Color me hyped now.

Seriously, for the most part (other than Goblet) the Potter films are all solid popcorn fare with possibly the best casting in a summer blockbuster franchise. Of course, some films for me (Prisoner of Azkaban) are not only good films, but great films, due to the fact that Cuaron can fucking direct some scenes with some masterful cinematography.

I guess I'm making this thread for me and PD to talk about the movie since the rest of the forum will ridicule us for our Potter love, but whatever.

I saw a commercial for this on TV and it looked like Lord of the Rings 4 or something. I saw a bunch of gollums, and Gandolf was there.

After building that cool house there's no way you should have to endure a Harry Potter film. I applaud the blu-ray idea ('cept I'd go DVD since it's Harry Potter (unless there's a VHS release)).

Watching Prisoner of Ass Cabin tonight on DVD with my wife. I've seen it before a few years ago, but barely remember anything.

Not going to see Half Blood Prince in the theaters until I can go without having to deal with hordes of the Great Enemy of Mankind, i.e., children and their parents.

Glad to see someone else has this problem. I've read all the books and I *think* i've seen all the movies but I honestly don't *know*. And what i have read/seen, I can barely remember. As soon as they're done, i cease to care at all and it just all seeps out of me. Honestly, I could tell you more about the plots of mediocre films I've seen 20 yrs ago than most of the Potter stuff.

I love all the mainstream reviews that mention Dumbledore dying in the first paragraph though. huagh huagh huagh

Last night, I walked out of the theater feeling really good about that movie. I had been thoroughly entertained!

This morning... I realized that I had a few complaints. I mean, overall the movie was good. I am not saying that it wasn't. But there were some changes at the end that made it feel rushed. When the credits rolled, I said out loud "What? That's it?". :/

It wasn't boring, by any means. I enjoyed everything but the last five minutes or so. But, when it came to the ending,

I expected to actually see the fight that was in the book with the death eaters against the Order. But they skipped that, and made it into "Oh well, Dumbledore and Snape landed on the tower and then Draco pops out! Then other death eaters come up! Then Snape shushes Harry, which lets him kill Dumbledore. Ugh. Okay, first things first, death eaters and the Order/DA fought under the tower. Draco ran up and confronted Dumbledore, with Harry up there under the Invis cloak bound by the Petrificus Totalus charm Dumbledore had just put on him. Then more death eaters came up, blah blah, but they were still fighting below. Then Snape comes out of nowhere, and kills Dumbledore. That didn't happen. Goddamnit. Also, they didn't show Dumbledore's funeral, which was something I was really looking forward to seeing. Instead, the movie is ended with Ron, Harry, and Hermione talking for five minutes about the same stuff they were SUPPOSED to say at the funeral. It lost part of it's impact to me.

Also, another thing. Ginny and Harry were supposed to be dating for most of the movie, not just happening to kiss towards the end. Half of the heartbreak was supposed to be from Harry telling Ginny at the funeral that they couldn't be together because he had to go find the horcruxes.

This was my least favorite book, I don't give a shit about Voldemort's backstory, which is pretty much all that the sixth book is about, and hearing about his wah-wah childhood makes him seem a lot less villainous. They kind of pussied him up in the fifth movie already though, so I don't know.
