The QuakeCon thread is a bit jumbled, so I'll post the new stuff here:

-There's a lot of questing to do. Little outposts scattered around will give you quests that send you into various hostile areas to fight raider dudes and win weapons, ammo, and ect.
-Graphics look amazing, in the big picture. There's a lot of detail, the art design is incredible, animations are fluid, everything feels large, and the textures are sharp, but...
-Texture pop-in is an issue and it's not something that's really going to be fixed. Spinning around will cause you to see some blurry textures that slowly sharpen, the length it takes depends on factors like PC vs. console, how fast you turn, and whether you've seen that particular texture before. It's noticeable if you're looking for it, but most of the time it's not really something that you're thinking about.
-Limited inventory management, loot doesn't weigh anything
-Some normal enemies are pretty tough, use energy shields that you have to get around or destroy, other enemies will hide behind them while they shoot at you
-Several different kinds of grenades and explosive items, also deployable turrets
-Buttery-smooth framerate, PC and console.
-Item-crafting
-Some areas have ziplines, so you can slide back down to the main world area after running through a "dungeon"
-Environments are highly detailed and each location, and each room, has a unique look to it
-Looks like you can have four different weapons at a time, with different types of ammo for each. Saw a pistol, submachine gun, shotgun, crossbow, and that spinny thing that cuts guys' heads off.
-Buggies and four-wheelers to ride around on
-Feels somewhere between Fallout 3 and Borderlands, minus the stiffness of the former and grinding of the latter
-I've not sure how large the game world is, but they've talked a lot about how the game really opens up after the first 3-4 hours
-Car-combat multiplayer looks kinda fun [racing with weapons and powerups and regular deathmatch arena], not amazing but it should be a nice little diversion from the main game
The only thing I've seen that hasn't met or exceeding my expectations is the issue with the texture loading and that's fairly minor.
