Last night's games were BORING, it was almost enough to put me off college football completely except soon I'll have the chance to watch my OU Sooners dismantling the BYU Fighting Mormons.

I didn't even stick around to watch the fight, I tuned out after the first half of that awful game. The best response I heard to punch was: "That's not the first time a white boy's been knocked out by a Blunt."

I just don't see how anyone takes this shit seriously. For starters, there's no playoff system- apparently it makes more sense to have a glorified beauty pageant/popularity poll instead of some playoffs. Secondly, look at the supposed best team, Florida- they're playing a glorified Pop Warner squad and massacring them as you'd expect. This game isn't an exhibition- it counts for 1/12th of their season. As shitty as the Lions, Bengals and Raiders are, they're still essentially NFL teams. You're not gonna see the Pats play some pick up squad from Greenwich or some shit. The whole fucking thing is just laughable.

There are amazing athletes in college football, especially in the SEC/Big 12/etc. Big 10 has some big powerful, slow guys. The skill level is fine.

I dunno about NFL vs. College. With basketball, college basketball is DEFINITELY better than the NBA. With NCAA, I would say its about even. Just because there's a higher level of talent in the pros doesn't make it any more entertaining. There are things like school tie ins, the big upset in college that make them more exciting to me than a lot of NFL games.

The game itself as well, a lot more trick plays and misdirection than the pros, and creativity in playcalling. Funny how the Wildcat offense everyone is raving about in the NFL was done before in the NCAA with teams like Pat White/Slaton and WVU, along with McFadden at Arkansas.

Then again, College Football has a seriously balance of power problem, and the parity in the NFL makes it interesting. It gets old seeing the SEC's cock sucked constantly and teams fates sealed by a poll popularity contest at the start of the year. Oh, and of course, the horrible BCS and the fact there's no real champion crowned, just a slew of irrelevant consolation prize bowl games.

Yeah, I dunno. I never really cared for football till I started college (and that is more due to the fact we won a national championship). I've gotten into football in general since then, but I find college more appealing. Maybe its because I don't have an NFL team to really follow. The game day atmosphere on campus is nuts though.

, and I couldn't agree with you more about GA football coverage. I've never seen a more entitled fan base that had accomplished such relatively little. Living in GA you would think that UGA had the pedigree of a USC or Notre Dame when in reality they are even less accomplished than their little brother Tech (national championship-wise.) Tech won one in 1990 while UGA goes back to what, 81? You would think they had won 3 championships this decade though if you go by their coverage.
