Ys Seven is out on Steam now, first time it's been on a system that's not a handheld:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/587100/Ys_SEVEN/

Pretty good so far, has a lot of the classic Ys gameplay but with a bit more of a modern touch than the ones released in the years prior. Also, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is out in about 10 days.

Not Steam (obviously) but GOG has some of the other games on sale for 70% off as well to celebrate the new one: https://www.gog.com/promo/20170830_special_sale_ys_series

SEVEN has the same 10% discount as Steam.

Mirage: Arcane Warfare, the 2nd game of the Chivalry: Medieval Warfare's devs is free for today only. Start the install to own it forever. Dubious value, given that it will almost certainly die a 2nd death within a week, but hey, free is free. Oh, and it's a 5GB download. in case you suffer download caps.

Well, it feels - bad. Like my character is drunk or something. First person melee multiplayer: not for me. I'd give it another hour, but it loves to crash on me.

It is fucking beautiful though.

mess with your fov? or at least keep that in mind when you're playing. There's a feel to it and your fov can screw with it. Like at max, enemies will look and feel further away than they actually art. Weapon you're using matters as well.

I stuck with the default, which I did think was quite high (110). I assume to aid with peripheral vision. Either way, I've uninstalled it already. I've got no patience these days. :B

lol at all the bitching because they didn't expect people to swarm a 12 year old game and boost it suddenly overnight to blops III-ish numbers so there aren't enough servers up

maybe this is why Bethesda went with the "don't tell anyone" method for F2P BRINK

either it better be hidden somewhere in the game or they really fucked shit up by not having the mad click/tap part be beating the printer, though then i'd be disappointed in lack of the music anyway

the "reboot" mechanic is milton burning down the office

this looks like it got a ton of development resources for a clicker/idler game, it's way better thought out with the multi-tiering than AdVenture Communist for example, also what a weird thing to license

there is so much stuff to spend real money on in the game it's crazy, and no i don't want to know what these games make

edit: oh i see in the screenshots you later get to beat up the printer, excellent

I picked up a Steam link when they were on sale for $15. I’ve been enjoying it. No noticeable lag on WiFi. I regret not getting the steam controller. I read too many stories of it having a high difficulty curve and waited too, now it’s back to full price.

Anyone have any experience with it?

Fuck I was about the pull the trigger on the steam link too, I find the steam controller comfortable to play with which is surprising because it looks awkward as fuck, the shiny plasticy shit scratches easily and it feels like i'm going to break the damn thing ymmv.

I have two steam controllers... I’ve been forcing myself to use them for Shadow of War.

It’s not terrible, but it’s hard for me to argue that it is better than an an xbox controller too. It feels really good if you find something that can utilize dual inputs (like mouse with joystick) but the other compromises are not so great.

I also find it a little less comfortable than a regular ass controller.

So, I’m mixed on it... it is serviceable in a pinch however.

I’d be using it mainly for FPS. Right now I’m just using an old 360 controller. It’s hard finding good configurations for older FPS games like Blood or Shadow Warrior.

I think you definitely need to pick something low difficulty and stick with it to get the feel of it. That’s why I’m rocking it in shadow of war. I tried to play half life 2 with it when I first got it and was having a horrible go of it.

(It doesn’t help that Half Life 2 is a garbage game.)

Steam Winter Sale: December 21, 2017 - January, 2018.

These days I hardly buy anything until the Winter sale. The 3 sales are so close together and half the time the game I buy in Halloween/Thanksgiving is like another 5-10% cheaper by Winter and I haven't even installed it yet.

Then again I finally kicked the habit of buying dozens/hundreds of steam games and never playing them this year. All it took was joining an MMO and never having time/interest to play anything else on Steam! :P

Huge :uguu sale on steam. Picked up Senko no Ronde II which just came out for 50% off at $20, double dipped from Vita on Umi Kawase trilogy for $7 and tripled dipped on the Cave shmups for like $7 each.

Which reminds me, why did Cave stop porting their shmups to mobile/pc? They did a handful but stuff like Akai Katana is still X360 JPN locked only which sucks.

Who are they foolin'? People will just make a subtle guide to link it and people will find it through that instead of the forums. If the company themselves are pointing folks to it, Valve only have themselves to blame for allowing them on the store "censored" in the first place.

They won't even find a subtle place to link it. I guarantee it'll be on both the forums and in the guides section, cuz Steam evidently has zero moderation outside of devs themselves.
