It's relatively common for devs to take out Denuvo after the game is cracked, I remember it happening with Doom and the Life is Strange prequel

Square won't do that, unfortunately.

i think there was a game last year that actually patched Denuvo out the day after it was finally cracked...might have been Agents of Mayhem or something that bombed like that

Yup and after that patched it works on my phenom ii, when they removed the sse requirement

Just FYI: It's not done by any of the original developers IIRC, so it's pretty much a hard pass if that is a concern for you.

I would not want to play this game high though  :doge

For those of you not caught up yet, there's been an .exe "leak" of a developer version. That means there will be no Denuvo. No need to crack anything since it's absent. Not bypassed, ABSENT! -- At least that's how I understood it looking over at CS.RIN.

Square is so goddamn incompetent. :neogaf

The last time a developer build leaked was when Dark Souls 1 had it accidentally uploaded (but the game was updated promptly after to where the developer build couldn't play with the retail/non-developer build), people uploaded that .exe to be used around the internet. I'm not sure if the same will work in FF15 case, but if so: Hoo, boy. DRM fail.

huh, i guess that's sorta cool if it actually was 60 fps on the ps1, was only made by a few people apparently

but this viewpoint ugh and iirc this is like the entire game, they just put more boxes and turrets in the levels

A German dev. Huh. Their careers aren't as short as I had assumed by looking at that gameplay video.

Soundtrack by Chris Hülsbeck, too. (Sounds terrible. Those midi horns. :/)

SteamOS, Linux, and Steam Machines
We've noticed that what started out as a routine cleanup of the Steam Store navigation turned into a story about the delisting of Steam Machines. That section of the Steam Store is still available, but was removed from the main navigation bar based on user traffic. Given that this change has sparked a lot of interest, we thought it'd make sense to address some of the points we've seen people take away from it.

While it's true Steam Machines aren't exactly flying off the shelves, our reasons for striving towards a competitive and open gaming platform haven't significantly changed. We're still working hard on making Linux operating systems a great place for gaming and applications. We think it will ultimately result in a better experience for developers and customers alike, including those not on Steam.

Through the Steam Machine initiative, we've learned quite a bit about the state of the Linux ecosystem for real-world game developers out there. We've taken a lot of feedback and have been heads-down on addressing the shortcomings we observed. We think an important part of that effort is our ongoing investment in making Vulkan a competitive and well-supported graphics API, as well as making sure it has first-class support on Linux platforms.

Recently we announced Vulkan availability for macOS and iOS, adding to its existing availability for Windows and Linux. We also rolled out Steam Shader Pre-Caching, which will let users of Vulkan-based applications skip shader compilation on their local machine, significantly improving initial load times and reducing overall runtime stuttering in comparison with other APIs. We'll be talking more about Shader Pre-Caching in the coming months as the system matures.

At the same time, we're continuing to invest significant resources in supporting the Vulkan ecosystem, tooling and driver efforts. We also have other Linux initiatives in the pipe that we're not quite ready to talk about yet; SteamOS will continue to be our medium to deliver these improvements to our customers, and we think they will ultimately benefit the Linux ecosystem at large.

In general, and if you have any questions or feedback on the topics above, feel free to reach out to me at pgriffais@valvesoftware.com.

Thanks!

Listing this deal here because you can get a Car Mechanic Sim game and Ara Fell for $1. Plus two other games that I know little about, but Car Mechanic and Ara Fell are good games.

Nier Automata is 50% off right now.

Is it good friends? Sometimes these games get a tad overhyped when they launch and all sorts of technical issues pop-up in PC ports.

It's a great game that's definitely worth playing. The PC version had some minor issues [that mostly could be worked around], dunno if they ever get fully fixed.

Any idea what those issues were?"
Nothing game breaking I hope.

I remember getting MGS Revengeance on a steam sale and it crashed after the intro. Made me a bit cautious with Platinums PC ports.

Didn't have any problems with crashing, the main thing was that it wouldn't display certain resolutions properly in full screen so I had to download a third-party mod to work around it.

seriously though in case anyone is actually slightly concerned, i don't buy anywhere near every bundle only ones with new-to-bundle games i want at the right price aka less than $3 usually and more than one game in the bundle, though i do have humble monthly, and it's all i spend on games anymore except for select specific releases/titles hitting price thresholds...which i often use the humble credit plus discounts to get "cheaper" now...and i could easily spend four times as much, i probably used to on "full" games especially on consoles

also that counts everything on steam that's f2p (even if it's gone like HAWKEN) because i ran that script that automatically adds everything free on the store to your account a few times over the years
