According to Reddit, Valve is replacing all the DirectX/Visual C++/etc. redistributables apparently. Instead of being in each individual game folder, Steam will handle them centrally. Except, then Steam redownloads them all when they're found missing.

So, enjoy a whole bunch of 0 byte and then 100+MB updates in your queue for everything!

Especially you, Joe.

I'm at "430 Items" and counting in the queue. :(

If you keep hitting the button to send things to the top of the queue, it'll at least clear out the 0 byte ones.

It's times like these and adding a bunch of keys when I lament that Valve hasn't improved this part of Steam very much at all over the last decade.

Heh, I remember being upset that I had to install each Valve game one by one when I got a new computer in 2005. And I had like what...12 games total in my Steam account then. (Everything up to DoD:S I think.) And I would have had to do that anyway if I used the disks like before. :lol

When I built my new computer a few weeks ago, I took one of the hard drives out of my old computer [the one that I had most of my Steam games installed on] and Steam immediately recognized the files on my new computer.

Yeah, now it does well at picking up the games if they already exist. It seems to be more on the developer for when it doesn't work.

I'm going off copying the files from one drive/computer to another and then doing verify files/installing the game and letting it find the existing files.

You shouldn't have to do anything, but to be on the same side, switch to offline mode now while you still have a connection. Also try running some of the game you're gonna want to play, to make sure there's not a required update that didn't get downloaded.

Been looking for the thrill? Then you've come to the right place! Here is a terrifying survival simulator of an abandoned hospital with elements of horror, which will keep you in suspense throughout the game! Insanity Clicker is a time-killer game full of horror and fear that will make you tremble in a couple minutes!

Imagine: you are alone, the sounds of heads and fists beating behind the bare walls around you can be heard even through them... What's going on here?! First thoughts: I want to get out of here as quickly as possible, but... Am I strong enough?

One click, two clicks - and you're not so weak and vulnerable as you were a moment ago! More clicks, more power! Hitting the wall becomes automatic with time! The one has to be hardy, need to adapt to this place. Pills, mutagens - consume everything you need to stay sane! But they also have to be found somewhere, so clench your fists and step into the unknown!

Still not scared? Then we got tell you about the inhabitants. Maniacs, madmen and mutants – are just a small part of the population of this place. And now the most interesting part - each of them is ready to eat you alive, tear you up into pieces or just kill by the injection of a deadly vaccine. Yeah, deranged former doctors of the hospital will also join the party!

soon all game genre's will be clickers  :rejoice

A small threesome of experimental games about male sexuality (Hurt Me Plenty, Succulent, and Stick Shift) about punishing, eating, and driving.

These small short games attempt to expand eroticism in games beyond a cutscene and fade-to-black. What if sex in games was something we performed as players, instead of something we obtained? What might sex mechanics look like? How can we convey intimacy in games? That's what Radiator 2 tries to explore.

GRAPHICS: This game certainly has a lot of them
AVERAGE RUNTIME: 10-45 minutes total, it's up to you
CONTROLS: Mouse or trackpad, most gamepads supported
SUBTLETY: Not much
MORE GAY STUFF BY ROBERT YANG: http://debacle.us/

Hurt Me Plenty: a short game where you spank the heck out of a dude and learn about how BDSM communities formalize consent / caring. Progress through negotiation, play, and aftercare, with your AI-controlled partner. Music by Liz Ryerson.

Succulent: a short interactive music video game thing where you help a hunk enjoy a delicious shapely treat. It's pretty straightforward, really. (Now featuring new stunning immersive "cheek physics" technology!) Music is "Waste" by Arca, used with permission.

Stick Shift: an autoerotic night-driving game about pleasuring a gay car. This game is a bit difficult and requires some finesse with timing, but it has a huge video tutorial and cosplay community, just search "how to drive stick shift" on YouTube. Music is "Crybaby" by Davey and the Chains, used with permission.

**********

Q: I've played these games before. What's new?
A: Hurt Me Plenty has been substantially re-designed. In general though, it's mostly improved shaders and HDR lighting with HD skin effects and hair physics. There's also gamepad support and text localization for several languages.

Q: How much nudity is in this game?
A: It is possible to witness some bare butts, and sometimes the characters are in their underwear, but otherwise there is no "full frontal" or anything. If this were a movie, it would be rated PG-13.

Q: Will playing this game turn me gay?
A: Yes.

I'm honestly surprised this got past Gabe. Granted, most of the content is really tame, but you'd think they wouldn't allow "sexual content" on Steam. It even has a sexual content warning. :lol :lol :lol I'm even more surprised that there is a collection of minigames. I knew of the car/manual shifting one, but not any of the others. :lol
