Grabbing Trine.  Had the misfortune of buying the PS3 version which controls well but looks like ass, so I'm a double dippin' and playing it on PC instead.

Possibly grabbing Borderlands in a 4-pack for $25.  Might get Spore; never really looked into what it's about.

holy fuck i refreshed the homepage and couldnt believe my eyes at that l4d price

also bought dark forces, which was on of my favorite games as a kid, but it looks a lot worse than i remember, now all they need to do is add the x-wing and tie fighter games

if they did that, which im surprised they didnt, all theyd have to do to complete my childhood pc game collection is offer the descent games in the store

Must be regional, it's still $19.99 here. Either that, or you just got an accidental sale. :teehee

Is Ghostbusters worth it?  I mean, really?  I played the first 1-2 levels on the PS3 version at a 4th of July party and the consensus was that the game design was kind of shit.  But having the actors was cool.  $10 is cheap, but I don't want to endure a crappy game just for some ghostbustin' cutscenes.

It's worth it if you're a Ghostbusters fan, as in a living, breathing human being.  At $10 it's basically the cost of a movie ticket, and the game is about 6 hours long with good cutscenes and ghostbusters fanservice throughout.

EVE Online: Apocrypha -$4.99
Battlefield 2: Complete Collection - $14.99
Lucidity - $2.49
Trackmania United Forever - $19.99
Prince of Persia - $14.99
World of Goo - $4.99
Guild Wars Trilogy - $24.99

Lame deals today. I'll probably get Lucidity just because it's so cheap, but I'm not biting on anything else without a deeper discount than that. World of Goo is decent at that price, but I already picked it up for $5 during another sale.

I got pretty far into Ghostbusters (PS3 version) before my rental period expired, and I rather liked it.  The core ghostbusting mechanic is actually really well done and lots of fun to play, I wish that there were more acutal ghosts to capture, rather then the humdrum shooter sections that punctuate each such encounter.

Also, the cutscenes and the script deserve props, as does the MASSIVE bestiary and journal system.  Many of the enemies you find might be functionally similar, but its just so damn cool to keep running into fresh faces throughout the game.  It was a very nice touch and helped keep the game fun all the way through (up until the last levels that I topped out at, at least).  Its on my "I'll finish it someday" list, as I liked it enough to want to play it again, but I didn't love it so much that I felt the immedatie urge to drop 60 bones on it, when the console version gets mega-cheap I'll probably pick it up again.

A deal that isn't showing on the front page is that all Prince of Peria games (including the pack) are half off.  Sands of Time, Warrior Within and Two Thrones are $5 each.  Entire pack with those three and the newer one is $23.

Picked up Lucidity because all the complaints I heard were about no checkpoints and then they patched it with checkpoints.  Plus $2.50

Also got all 3 original Prince of Persia for $5 each.  I've played SoT and loved it, but never got around to the 2 sequels.  I think I'll run through SoT again and play the whole trilogy in the future.  Didn't opt for the pack with the new PoP because I already cleared it + epilogue on the PS3 and it's not a game I would ever want to replay EVER because it's so repetitive and non-gaming.  Man, I sure hope PoP2 is as big of a game upgrade as AC->AC2

Yeah I don't keep most of my steam games installed.  And once I beat a game I uninstall it.  That way I can visually see my PC backlog by the games I have running on steam (+multiplayer games I keep around).

Right now my steam dir is 73gigs and a solid chunk of that is because of Dragon Age (15gigs WTFFFFFFF) and Borderlands (7gig+)

I usually keep 6-10 games installed as my favourites, everything else is deleted. I can't play any more games than that in a period of time.

Luckily I have unmetered steam downloands so it doesn't matter.

Got Mirror's Edge and Evil Genius.

Overall pretty good weekend at steam.  The THQ deal was obviously the winner and I wish I owned less of them so I could've taken advantage of it, but there were still solid deals throughout the thing.  I think I bought something everyday.  Spent about $130 total.

It is very streamlined as there is essentially no base building whatsoever. I think you'll like the campaign, as you go from planet to planet completing missions and collecting gear and upgrading your different heroes.

It is the only RTS that I've ever stuck with as far as multiplayer is concerned. So yeah, it is pretty accessible

Only 30% off on CoJ 2 and Dawn of Discovery is weak. CoJ 2 has a good single-player campaign though if you're a fan of spaghetti westerns; all the best cliches are played to great effect. It's a lot better than the first game.

Anyway, I grabbed Mirror's Edge and Dark Athena today.

well, you're gonna need to find one way or another to trick your computer into thinking it's a 360 controller.  A good number of games are built with the 360 controller in mind, and many will only support the 360 controller (unless you trick it).

Just be aware that the entire hud will still reflect the 360 controller.

Games are designed with 360 in mind

It's actually really awesome and has made PC gaming better this gen.  Controller support has been lame for most gams in the past, and even when it does work, you're stuck with shit like "Button 1, Hat Switch Up, X Axis".  Now you just plug in the 360 controller (or sync up the wireless one, which is what I do) and it works perfectly.  The hud and ui stuff for the game is all changed to xbox 360 controls, like ABXY etc.
