Cowboys are a juggernaut the past few games, I dunno why you'd pick the Vikings except for your irrational hatred of America's Team woo

I can see Dallas beating Minnesota. They've got the all important momentum going into the Playoffs, where the Vikings are falling victim to the time tested Favre bumblin', sling and slangin' Playoffs tactics.

Whoa whoa whoa... do we have to go over this again?

If losing to me twice in the regular season by a total of more than 100 points only to barely beat me by less than 10 in the first round of the playoffs is annihilation... then sure, consider me annihilated.  In the meantime, your homeskoold ass might want to consult a dictionary, and not one of the Jesus approved ones that mommy gave you.

I could see Favre fucking the Vikes over with multiple INTs/dumb decisions. But eh, I really think he's going to win the game for them. Dallas destroyed a team that had no running game; add a poor McNabb showing and you have a recipe for disaster. That's not going to happen at Minnesota.

Holy shit!!  :lol :lol
I just finished up a Madden game against the Packers. It was a hard fought game and was up 24-20 with :19 left in the game. I was taking knees on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down to run out the clock. Instead of sitting there for 19 second until the clock runs out, I hit supersim to get it over with. It asked me if I wanted to sim the rest of the game. I said yes, heard the crowd roar and toggled down to see the last play.
Apparently we punted and it was returned for a TD instead of letting the clock run out so we lose 24-27!!!!  :duh :rofl
They didn't need to run a play!!!!!!!
:rofl That is the shittiest AI I've ever seen.  :piss EA

Alright, gun to your head, if you had to choose one QB who you think will get to the superbowl and win, who do you go with?

On one hand Manning seems like the safest pick, but then again...Manning chokes in the playoffs, and didn't play particularly well when he was in the superbowl. I'm gonna have to think about this

I wouldn't go with Warner or Favre. Any game for them can turn into a turnover-fest

Maurice talking about more stuff he knows nothing about:

Quote from: Bleacher Report
These are Peyton Manning's career statistics in the postseason...

348 of 565 (61.5 percent) for 4,207 yards. 22 touchdown passes and 17 interceptions.

His quarterback rating: 84.8

Wait a second, if Manning has been so horrible during the postseason, his numbers have to be worse than that?

Actually no.

With the exception of a few really bad postseason games, Manning has otherwise remained quite effective during January.

To put his postseason quarterback rating in perspective, it's higher than the career quarterback rating of Roger Staubach, Jim Kelly, Len Dawson, Sonny Jurgensen, Troy Aikman, Warren Moon, Bart Starr, Fran Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, and John Elway. All of them are members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

What a choke artist! ::)

Don't hold Manning's solid numbers against him. The Colts got bounced out of the playoffs many times before mainly because of their non-existent defense.

22 touchdown passes and 17 interceptions, 84 qb rating? Maybe not "choke artist", but definitely not good.

damn, Riverz or Manning I guess

edit: I'll go with Manning.

How is a better postseason passer rating than Staubach, Kelly, Dawson, Jurgensen, Aikman, Moon, Starr, Tarkenton, Fouts and motherflippin' Elway not good?

Just man up and say you were wrong. And if you are referring to Philip Rivers when you say "Phillips", then his postseason stats are worse:

He's thrown for 1522 yards, 7 TDs, 7 INTs for a 80.0 passer rating.

Manning has underachieved in the playoffs, how can you possibly argue against that? Byes, home field advantage, good o line, and a damn good running game for many of those years? Yea...no.

Rivers has worse stats yea, but I think the Chargers are pretty damn good and could get to the superbowl. Ravens can beat the Colts.

Who do you go with Federwing?

Again, you can't look at those stats and say Manning has "underachieved" in the playoffs. That's distinguished mentally-challenged. Defense wins championships, and quite frankly, Indy didn't have a remotely decent one until about the time that Manning coincidentally won the Super Bowl. If Manning is an underachiever, so is Aikman, Elway, etc.

Don't be dumb.

My answer? The quarterback doesn't matter, just find a good team. Remember when Trent Dilfer won a ring? Brad Johnson? Joe Theismann for Christ's sake?

You can win a ring with a mediocre QB.

In the fifteen playoff appearances by Manning, you can only realistically peg two or three of the losses on Manning.

Yeah, to be fair, you can't win with Tony Banks, but most of what I said still stands - you can win with a "game managing" quarterback. Power running and defense will always trump aerial displays of finesse.

Give me a Kyle Orton or Joe Flacco and a great running back with a Top 5 defense, and I'll get you to the SUPAH BOWL.

The stats are the definition of underachievement for a QB in Manning's situation; bringing up Elway and others, who were in different situations, is irrelevant. I'm not referring to Indy's defense, I'm referring to Manning's production on the field. Sure Indy has one superbowl due to defense, but their defense has little to do with Manning's performance. He's a different QB in the playoffs

I can't wait for the Ravens/Colts game. Last time they played Manning struggled and the Colts barely won (granted it was at Baltimore). If Flacco doesn't fuck up, I think the Ravens have a shot.

But Willco you didn't answer my question: which QB do you take dammit

The postseason statistics of other Super Bowl-winning, Hall of Fame quarterbacks are irrelevant when talking about the postseason statistics of Manning?

That's why you never build around a quarterback. Build around both the offensive and defensive lines, and then work your way from there.

Honestly I'd agree with Willco on that. You don't need a great qb to win, you need defense and a running game; having a good qb certainly helps though.

But with respect to postseason stats of QBs in different situations than Manning not being analogous...well if you don't see the difference I guess this discussion is hopeless. So which QB do you go with
