Now that Zorn is gone, the players are throwing him underneath the bus. They say the team lacked discipline (surprise!), players could skip practices, could skip meetings, broke curfew, etc. Lines of communication eroded compared to Gibbs' tenure as coach.
I thought a lot of this was evident, and was pretty outraged when Haynesworth had the audacity to pull the "... but if they can do it, why can't I?!" excuse when showing up late to practice. That highlighted the more problematic issue - that Zorn was apparently letting players show up to practice late, or as we are now finding out, not at all.
I'm not a fan of Shanahan, but I hope he puts pressure on these guys. Any of the big-priced, high-drama guys in the locker room need to be jettisoned if it's a salary cap free year. I cannot believe these guys were paid millions and don't even bother to show up to work.
What is also disturbing is to hear these players - likely the same ones who are responsible for missing practice and breaking curfew -complain about the lack of discipline. They're grown men. They get paid millions to go to work. I find it pretty ludicrous that grown men need to be forced to do this stuff. Or did Cerrato and Snyder build an entire team full of daddy issues?
