I have a circle of friends that I told, and I even had a girlfriend that was in the same company as me (and that was a bad idea). No one seems bothered by it, because I don't act it, nor do I bring it up constantly. I keep that info private and people seem to appreciate that, besides I'm not the type to advocate for gay rights right now. I don't experience much sexism, because I've made an effort to "tough it out" with everyone else in my platoon. Helps to have an inappropriate sense of humor too, so much so that I've become "one of the guys".
There's a lot of girls that pass themselves around in the military, and they are normally the ones that cry wolf for whatever reason. Not always the case, but most often than not.
