I'm a little confused about something T EXP

You weren't exactly a nintendo fanboy back then, what made you decide to go wii exclusive for a year?
I didn't own any system at the time and I had to have Mario Galaxy. That meant owning a Wii and with Smash Brothers (that game turned out to be a tchotchke collect-a-thon more than a game) and Mario Kart on the horizon, I figured it would be worth my while. Plus at the time I believed that the Wii's success would produce more games than it has. I didn't expect third parties to go Wii exclusive like some still hope but I expected
something. So I kept it for a few months. I got tired of it after beating enough 12 year old Euros online in Mario Kart and after Nintendo's fuck awful E3, it was clear that it wouldn't last me for another couple of months. With Wii demand still high, I sold it. With all the games I sold with it, I think I made a slight profit but I don't remember.
It was pretty bad. It meant waiting for good stuff (well, potentially good as Brawl sucked) while poking around the B and C grade quality stuff (Zack and Wiki, Metal Slug Anthology, HOTD 2 and 3, Ghost Squad) to see if they were down at a price that would be considered worth it. The wait was too long and that was at a time when the Wii arguably hit its peak. I don't know how they do it now, except depending entirely on the B and C grade stuff like Little King Story. During its prime, it was still pretty boring. Half of it was full of fun and dare I say, whimsy, but the other half was arduous waiting or stomaching the crap that was now considered good by the likes of Andrex and jrricky.
I will most likely re-Wii when Galaxy 2 comes out. With that, I can replay the original Galaxy, NSMB, Sin and Punishment 2, and maybe a couple of more surprise quality titles. In other words, it will most likely get sold again after a few months.
Is that more insulting than Activision dominating with ANOTHER Guitar Hero spinoff, or a shitty game based on a movie license, or the yearly Madden game dominating?
Not really but I would point out that at least they came out yearly. The same shit for Wii from early 2007 is still on the charts now. That makes for good fanboy fodder but it is obvious that all it did was make Nintendo lazy. Since Mario Kart Wii, Nintendo has not really given a shit. Why would they when a game that is a year and a half old still sells hundreds of thousands a month? At least with yearly Maddens, you get various tweaks, new features, etc. With the Wii, Wii Play is the same in September 2009 as it was September 2007.
Nintendo is kind of the same way with the DS. Outside of a few token efforts here and there, they don't care. It must be pretty easy down at EAD.
