I've been thinking about making a new thread since this one is mainly demo and import impressions. Probably unnecessary though.

Hard mode in Bayonetta is kicking my ass.  Think I'm going to go back to normal mode and earn some halos so I can buy some of the accessories I suspect would make the going easier in hard mode.

Same thing happened to me.  Was not expecting enemies to pop up in spots they didn't in normal mode.  Even the prologue in the graveyard kicked my ass!   :lol  A.I. is a lot more aggressive, too.

:bow :bow :bow Bayonetta :bow2 :bow2 :bow2

So it does the whole remixed fights thing that DMC and NG did?  awesome.   are there new enemies too?

Not new enemies (that I saw), just ones that won't normally appear until later in the game popping up in places you don't expect them to!  BUT there are a few slots in my enemy list that are still listed as "??????".  I know one of them is the hidden boss.

There's new timing against most of the grunts (and some of the bosses too) for activating Witch Time.  I keep getting my ass kicked by the Jeanne flashback in chapter 2, though I managed to finish Chapter 1 with  a Gold Award.

I think I need the Moon of Maha-Kaala (or however it's spelled) to continue with the game on hard mode.  That one costs 100,000 Halos, which should be easy enough to get in the latter chapters of the game.

I got a few of the achievements switching to easy mode yesterday night (felt a little guilty about it though not enough to stop me from doing it :lol).  Could you tell me how to get the A Mother's Love achievement, lyte?  PM it to me or something if you don't wanna post spoilerz in the thread.  I noticed you have it but I don't.

There are a few parts where Cereza's shield can be damaged, and I made sure she wasn't attacked, so maybe that was it?

I forgot that DMC fans are only topped by Sonic fans in the "sad-worship-of-the-protagonist" category:

seems bayonetta will be co-opted by them too.

Normal...first time play
I can understand your pain, you have to be totally concentrated on the game...no mistakes allowed
This is the first game in ages that has forced me to say,"you should take a break, have a good night sleep and then play it"

Some people on the internet think that they have seen everything by playing the demo...what a mistake

By the time I finished on normal, I was like "Well, I can probably handle at least the first few chapters of hard mode before things start getting rough."  Well, I started getting my ass kicked in the prologue and the punishment just continued.  I've been working on getting halos to get some of the better accessories (I didn't buy any in my normal playthru) because they're probably necessary to beat the game in hard mode.

Ps3 is only better than the 360 controller in its D pad.

Which means a game like Street Fighter and Pro Evolution is better played on the PS3. Having finished Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry 3 on the Ps2 and then Devil May Cry 4 on a 360 controller i can seriously tell people that say the PS3 controller is better for action games to go fuck off.

This ain't pro evolution bitch.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnope.  You cannot get through the game without the dodge and witch time.  The hardest difficulty setting available turns witch time OFF, so I cannot even begin to imagine how insane that is.

How many times in this thread have those of us who have played through Bayonetta told you that the demo is nothing compared to the full game?

It might seem that way from the demo, but you spend a hell of a lot of time utilizing the dodge button and avoiding attacks.  There's no blocking like NG though, sure.  It's also more skill-based, since timing is needed to be able to get witch time going when you need it, and it can get difficult when you're surrounded by enemies while being slowly pulled towards huge engine fans, for example.

Really, it doesn't matter.  Bayonetta is the best 3D action game ever made.  Period.  Naysayers and non-believers will be converted to the cult of Bayonetta soon enough.  :bow KAMIYA, THOU ART OUR SAVIOR.  :bow2

Yeah, it will.  ONLY THE SELECT FEW, THE CHOSEN, SHALL FEEL THE GLORY AND THE SHINING LIGHT OF BAYONETTA.  It's another stellar effort from Clover Platinum Games and Capcom Sega.

Sega music-stuff (and maybe those halos, too) aside, the game feels incredibly "Capcomish."  Not surprising given who made it, of course!

SELL BLOOD.  NO EXCUSES.

Is the story cheesy and hilarious?

Yes.  The difference is that it's self-aware of its own cheesiness.  Broken record time-- it doesn't take itself seriously (up until the very end) and also makes fun of other (Capcom) games.  There are references to Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil 4, and Devil May Cry.  If you're like Prole, you'll also be glad to know that all cut scenes can be skipped.

If NG2 ran at a constant 60 fps, had a proper scoring system (beyond the survival DLC) and if Master Ninja mode was slightly rebalanced it would be a much better game than NGB. NGB may be the better game as a whole, but the combat in NG2 just blows NGB out of the water.

I don't think I'll ever be able to finish Infinite Climax mode with the trouble hard mode is giving me.

NG2 is not worth playing on mentor or master ninja. just like GoW isn't worth playing on harder difficulties either...because neither game is fun on account of shitty difficulty balancing that limits your options to practically nothing in combat except the safest moves.  NGS2 is barely worth playing on any difficulty because it's boring as shit drying on Madeline Albright's chest.
