What a weird ass game. I don't know what the hell is happening all the time. Button mash heaven. But I like it more than DMC4 so far. But then again, DMC4 was very mediocre.
Installed it on the HDD. Loading is pretty fast.

I'm two hours in and having fun. But I don't know if I'll ever finish this. Not really my type of game. The gameplay is way too unfocused and chaotic for my tastes. I'm basically button bashing myself through all the fights. The action looks cool, though.

And wow at the v-sync issues. The worst I've ever seen in a game.

Are you playing on easy or something?  It's not unfocused and chaotic; you have to use those reflexes and dodge, dodge, dodge to really get anywhere without getting your ass kicked.  If all you're doing is mashing, you're going to hit a point where you won't be able to get any further in the game or beat a boss.

No, the X360 version. And yes, I'm playing this on easy. You can only choose very easy, easy and normal when you start off a new game. I thought normal would be too hard, since there's no hard mode, so I went with easy mode.
I usually always play normal mode.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Start over on normal; play the real game.  You get hard mode after you beat the game on normal.  And you get an even harder difficulty after hard mode is cleared.

I'm almost 3 hours into the game now. Don't want to do it all over again. But yeah, the game has been reaaaaaaaaaaallly easy so far. Basically getting (super)platinum in all the battles.  :lol
I wonder how easy the very easy mode should be.

This is not a game I would ever buy, though. I like the less "hardcore" games like GoW when it comes to this genre. This game is a bit too confusing and too fast for my tastes. But I can see why someone would love this game. It really plays great and it's very responsive, and some of the designs and concepts in the game are amazing.

Very easy is the one that's all simple QTEs, isn't it?

also, come on...you're calling it a button masher, but you're playing it on easy.  of course you can get by with button mashing on easy, that's what it's there for!  Normal seemed like a good balance of learning some stuff and mashing.  Then again, the extra fight after the courtyard boss (if you go back to the beginning of the demo) is a bit harder than the others and is definitely not too mash-friendly.

The climax summons are so amazing. I just can't believe how awesome the boss battles are. Just when you think it can't get any more epic, a bigger boss appears.

I think I've almost finished the game. The game is waaaaaaaaay better than I expected it to be. There's so much diversity in the gameplay. The interactive loading screen alone is already better than Ninja Gaiden 2 and DMC4 combined.

With the exception of the second-to-last boss fight, this holds true.  That fight is kinda mediocre after all the AWESOME you go through leading up to it, but it's saved by the finish and by the  :o :o  :lol :lol  :o :o final level and  :o :o :o :o 8) 8) 8) final boss fight.  You actually keep going for a little bit after you beat the boss, and then there's the Bayonetta dance video after the credits, so don't be too quick to shut the game off after!

Make sure you have the power-up that allows you to transform into a bird before you tackle the last level.  It comes in very handy in avoiding one of the last boss's attacks!

I still have so much to unlock in this game.  The replay value is through the roof.

I died quite a lot, though. Mostly thanks to those stupid QTE. They come up so unexpected on the screen. But the boss battles weren't that hard. Haven't gotten any platinum/pure platinum awards ever since I switched to normal mode.  :'(

I didn't know you were playing the game,  lyte edge. I got all the animal transformation already. Purchased them immediately when they were available.

The demo didn't feel that hard to me, except the final boss where I suddenly wished I'd been practicing the heavier moves rather than spamming a few simple combos.

You mentioned in a different thread that you'd played Star Wars:TFU, which I'm playing right now on the hardest non-unlockable difficulty. The game is quite difficult in some sequences. The 2nd jedi assassination, the spider-runt on the junk world, is VERY HARD. How does Bayonetta feel compared to that?
