"Party Wave"
Mistwalker is pleased to present an action surfing game.
...i'll wait for some other impressions
I can give you more detailed impressions, I was at a friend's when I posted before, so here goes.
The gameplay is separated into two parts. The first part is comparable to Flight Control, where you are directing surfers to a point on the screen by dragging them. Except instead of drawing direct lines that they follow, each time you drag them they kinda just meander towards where you pointed unless you really rub. Later levels add obstacles to avoid while you drag them to the "wave". Once you've gotten at least one surfer to it (but you wanna get all of them), it goes into the next part, aptly titled "party wave".
This part kinda reminds me of Tiny Wings, but admittedly I haven't played many iOS games and there is probably a more accurate comparison I could draw. Basically what happens is your surfers start at the top of a wave and slowly creep down to the bottom, and tapping them flips them up and out of the wave. Waiting until they are very near the bottom (and of course, in danger of wiping out) before you tap them sends them careening out of the wave and nets you more points. Later levels add obstacles that you must avoid tapping. The control in this part comes off to me as a bit finicky at times, but the game is pretty good about letting you retry.
Speaking of which, if you get all four surfers in that first part of the level, you don't have to do it again and can just do the second part to get better scores and whatever.
It's a really simple game with a pleasant soundtrack, attractive visuals, and not a terrible value for $2.
