You wouldn't want to play against me then, I rarely play a word less than 8 letters. Unless it's the last word.

I deleted the game though, got tired of the shoddy matchmaking system that would often hang up at the start of games. Plus there was no incentive to run off 7-8 wins when no stats/acheivement are kept.

I feel awful saying this, but maybe Popcap or Zynga can steal the idea and turn it into a full-fledged game.

I got smashed by Groo in my first game, still trying to figure out the scoring. Some stats keeping would be nice but I do like it's minimalist design.

As for Racer Feud, it seems like an awesome game but the menus are a big riddled POS right now. Game is free, but the ads and pop ups are infuriating. So I thought I'd spend the 99c to get rid of them. But it won't take my password, and after every refresh the game keeps asking for my details. They still managed to charge me somehow. I had a race against someone and they lost midrace and then got deleted from my friends list somehow. When I do actually get to play it, I do enjoy it. But right now it's maddening.

Letterpress is apparently getting stats and leaderboards - not having them right this second is a GODSEND because there's a weird learning curve with the game.

The people i've played with multiple times now all get it and the games are getting more and more tacitcal.

When the leader boards kick most people will have grasped the full ins and outs.

I bought GOF2 awhile back and just couldn't get into it. The space fighting was pretty average and the trading was too simple. The cut scenes/dialog was good though.

I played a bunch of games this weekend (Punch Quest, Word Smack, Storm the Train, Rogue Miner, Extreme Road Trip 2 and Wimp who stole my panties). Can't really say any of them deserve a recommendation.

Word Smack (EA) is actually a great game, but you have to go through Facebook (or anonymous login) if you want to play other people async. Sucks. If you liked Letterpress, you will like this game. But the shit matchmaking and lack of stat tracking keep it from being recommended.

The guys who did Undercroft released another game on IOS called Northmark. It's a fantasy role playing card game. Lots of hand drawn art and a pretty decent story. Free to try, 3.99 to unlock the full game.
