Im going to visit my fiancees family in Denmark, but I dont speak Danish (yet). Sure they all speak english but it will be nice to zone out after too much Danish sometimes

I'm moving to Denmark next month by the way permanently so Ill get plenty of time to play vidya in between learning Danish and looking for work.

The cutesy graphics are kind of annoying, but the gameplay is fun. SRPG with sliding puzzle mechanics. You fight on a grid and you can slide your characters around the grid to attack (or heal) as you need to. Loot, progression stats and no timers.

Not bad.

Ok, so I grabbed a handful of iOS games in an attempt to see if I can enjoy mobile gaming this time around because I reallllly didn't enjoy it last time I tried on my iphone a few years back.

Got:
-The Room
-Year Walk
-Infinity Blade II
-Knack's Quest
-Angry Birds Star Wars II (never played an Angry Birds game but Cnet says this is the best and it's only a buck)
-Marvel Puzzle Quest

And maybe I'll give Chaos Rings 2 a shot but $16 is a fucking lot so I'm in no rush. Also it'll probably run like shit, because I'm using an iPad2 that I got for free. Would get Ghost Trick for a $1 but the game was too slow and boring to finish on DS so I doubt I'd get any further here.

Any other good free/cheap games that will impress me and sell me on mobile gaming? Games on iPad are definitely a lot more fun than on iPhone from what I've messed around with so far. Feels more like a videogame system on a tablet.

bebs why you don't join our happy puzzle & dragons brigade? it's especialy sad because marvel puzzle quest is so so so much worse both in mechanic and penny pinching aspect

EDIT: plus this is a really good time to start as the player top 15 favourite monster (aka: the most powerfull and usefull one) will be easier to get during christmas

Chaos Rings 2 runs fine on iPod Touch 4... iPad 2 cant be that bad.

Thanks for the heads up about the SE sale. I think I got squids in a free PC bundle last year.

Honestly, not a fan of the running games. The trial & error gameplay is really tedious to me. Haaaated Bit.Trip Runner and Canabalt was boring after 15 mins.

Chaos Rings 2 ran well on my Nook which has a very high res screen paired with a weak GPU so your iPad 2 should be fine. But keep in mind the game has a story which is not only dumb but incoherent. So I would skip if that is important enough to ruin the game for you.

right after clearing the tutorial,you get a free shot at the REM,this is a slot machine that shits new monster to use and of course some of them are really strong and some of them sucks

every two week there is an event where special dungeons and improved XP rate happen and on the weekend of each event,the chance of getting certain kind of strong monsters from the REM triple... coincidentaly we are in the middle of an event right now so if you wait until tomorrow to start you'll have a better chance to pulling something decent

better yet,if you wait until christmas there will be an event where the player themselves cherry picked what monster they wanted and of course they basicaly picked all of the good one

when you do decide to start,follow this guide and try to get something that is at least 3 star or better (on the guide,not on the monster) if you don't get anything worthwhile delete your data and re-do the tutorial again to get another free shot... it's a pain in the ass but starting with the right monster will make a huge difference in the long distance

EDIT: tomorrow greek god and roman god will have higher chance to pop out,you can probably have a decent but not amazing start with any of the greek god (cajole started with apollo) but i'd really would be better if you waited for christmas

or you could just play it until christmas,then try your luck on christmas with the free pul they give you and restart if you don't get anything good out of it... i did a similiar thing first time i played

So what's the deal with iOS7 and controller support. Are they going to let stuff like Dual Shock 3/4 work? Are there any good 3rd party controllers for iOS gaming? Turning a tablet + controller into a portable console does sound pretty intriguing.

Android is probably your best option if you wanna play with a console controller. I know you can at least play GTA with either a PS3 or 360 controller.

Is there a way to transfer your saves from one iOS device to another? All the games I bought on my iphone back in the day and re-downloaded on my ipad don't have any of my saves. Seems odd as I would have assumed all saves would be in the cloud with your account.

Only games that use iCloud will have your save. As such... many games do not use iCloud

Is anyone here actually good at Clash of Clans?

I have a hard time mounting attacks effectively. I nearly never get 100%, usually only get 1 Star if I win, and don't commonly even see that meager prize. On defense, I am doing OK, but I know I could get a better layout. I've been trying to get 10K Dark Elixir for the last two weeks, but I can't seem to go above 7K due to being raided.

Yeah, it's quite generous. You can go a long ways without spending money. I dropped $10 on it because I was enjoying it, but haven't really needed to touch it.

it's probably one of those game where you click on stuff to raise number,then those number aren't big enough to click on more stuff so the game goes like "time to spend real money and/or bother some other people about this game!" so that you can click on more stuff
