Why isn't anyone talking about Torchlight?

I've only seen tweaks and a new class which is just a reskin of the warrior.  I don't think there are any overhaul mods yet.

I found the best gauntlets ever.  Reduces the time it takes for my dog to sell things to only 20 seconds.

And I found armor that's incredible but my defense rank is too low, and the gems I have a shortage of are the ones that boost defense attribute  :'(

Is there a mode harder than Hard? I don't remember back when I started playing, but hard is really easy.



It's getting ridiculous how many of these I'm just storing, then selling the useless ones for room or coins.  The other chest has even more in there.

There is very hard and there is a hardcore mode where if your character dies, they are dead for good.


Hard mode is essentially normal mode for that game

Very hard is quite rough.  You almost need ranged damage to survive.  I'm going through with a Vanquisher and find myself dying alot.

Is it better than Titan Quest?

If you've played Titan Quest then yes, because it's fresher.

If you haven't played Titan Quest, it's probably a better buy.

I really hope that Blizzard takes a few notes from Torchlight, most notably the ability to start out on the hardest difficulty at the outset.  I don't wanna snooze through normal and nightmare before I am actually challenged.

oh no, it's not that bad.  At least the Torchlight final boss did interesting things like

summon a fuckton of skeletons and dragons to rush me.  Smashing them all in one swipe was satisfying.

That's what I do. I can mix/match elemental effects, plus one saps mana and the other saps health. I am a killing machine

Same here.  I mastered dual weilding first and got through the game with a double melee set and a double pistol set.  My sword set got me so much mana back that I could do unlimited special abilities, and my pistols took so much health that I could fire point blank and never go below the 50% health mark.

I'm rocking that explosive shot. A group of guys comes at me and I just lay into them, popping fireballs left and right. They don't stand a chance.
