Wow, that does look pretty good for a Wii game.

I used to really dig on Zelda, but Twilight Princess pretty much killed the series for me. I tried to get into Phantom Hourglass, but never dug it. The series ended for me with Wind Waker.

Looks fucking awesome.  I love cell-shaded link because his facial expressions making me  :lol nonstop.  Zelda games are soooooo fun.

PH was a good zelda outside the ONE GIANT DUNGEON concept and the sailing was zzzz even with auto-sailing.  I'm not a fan of overworld travel in Zelda games tbh.  It's fun the first time but then just pads time.  I think trains could cut down on this?

It was fun Zelda gameplay.  I don't really ask for much more in these games.  Then again I also thought TP was excellent outside the overworld travel.

If you want me to criticize I'll agree it was the weakest zelda I've played.  But the weakest zelda is still a great time in my book!

Well I thought it was a snooze-fest, but whatever. Hopefully they move away from the linear mini-puzzle mentality of PH's dungeons in this game, but I doubt it.

The controls in PH were amazing, and they look great in this game too. But I couldn't get into PH after a few hours of playing, and I'd imagine the same thing will happen in this game.

How can people say this looks uninteresting?

Controlling various enemies = could be a neat mechanic for puzzles/boss fights
Train = who doesn't want super cute conductor link??!? + trains move faster than boats or horses!!  Could be great
graphics = fuck awesome.  Super cute.  Way better than realistic zelda

Sure it's going to be zzz easy, but so is EVERY ZELDA GAME FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS STFU ALREADY ABOUT EASY BORING ZELDA.  If you can't find fun in Zelda games despite the baby difficulties, the series is just NOT FOR YOU anymore.

Whatever, I'm gay for link and I love zelda games so middle finger up to all the haters.

Nobody in the universe wanted Phantom Hourglass 2. Fuck you, Nintendo.

Because obviously the choice was between making a game like this and making LINK'S AWAKENING.   ::)

Some of you act like Nintendo still the company of a decade ago.  They can't make A++++++++++ games anymore, so settle for A- games or don't play them.

Y'know, that's a hard choice to make.  I guess I WOULD go with the Link's Awakening sequel instead because then the story would be close to nil, but then again I liked nearly everything about Phantom Hourglass, shitty textures aside.

I liked Minish Cap (though way too short) and 4 Swords on GC was great if you could get enough people and GBAs for the full on gimmick effect.  So I'm ok with Capcom Zeldas, though I think they lack the charm that Nintendo Zeldas have; they hit the gameplay notes but definitely feel outsourced.

PH's problems weren't their controls, not at all.  Hataz gon' hate here, but the controls worked exceptionally well.  I wouldn't say they were better, but a fully functional Zelda title with purely touch controls is pretty impressive.

No, it's problems were it's horrible dungeon design, lack of effort in the sound department, and it's buttfuckingly horrible repetition of design ideas.  Touch screen controls are fine, but a continual repetition of "hey, you can use your stylus to solve this puzzle that you've already solved thirty times before!" is just lazy, lazy development.

I've been of the opinion that PH was very much a proof of concept.  It's was fairly successful but lacked most of the charm and strengths of a true Zelda title.  I'm hopeful that ST takes things much further, but I won't be betting on it.

I know people say that PH is more accessible for some reason, but I can't help but think it wouldn't confuse and frustrate grandma even more than any other 2D Zelda.

Just throwin this out there, but Miyamoto had even less involvement with PH than he did with the others.

Luckily for M&L3, it was strengthened by a very strong presentation in both audio and visual, as per usual with Alpha Dream games.  And I never thought that M&L3 beat you over the head with it's repetition, as it did bring forward new concepts with Bowser's gameplay and the evolving powers of the brothers.  And besides, the core gameplay of those games are RPG battles, which in the third installment were the strongest they've ever been in the series.

I love Zelda but PH was by far my least favorite game in the series... didn't like the stylus control one bit, hated trekking through the temple over and over, hated the mandatory stealth sections, thought the challenge level/puzzle difficulty was the lowest yet... only thing that game had going for it were some novel boss fights.

Would love to see Capcom take over again in a new 2D Zelda. The Oracles games had some of the best dungeons in the series.

Me too.  I got them both at launch and never did play them.   :(

4 Swords is just LttP on GBA (awesome port) and the 4 Swords game on there is multiplayer-only.  The GC version that came later is a much-more fleshed out version of it.  Different levels though, IIRC.

The GC one? That's because it was ridiculous getting 4 people, 4 GBAs, and 4 of those cables together. Me and a friend played it a couple of times, but we never beat it. It was fun as hell though. I'd love if we got an online version, even a port, but lol Wii. :(
