I think the Japanese thing has to do with their culture. My problem isn't the fact they're Japanese because they can be attractive, it's just that they all seem to look the same. Similar haircuts, similar fashion styles...it seems to me there's a pervading thing in Japanese culture, and that's to be as trendy, similar and pop as possible. Which is why those homo looking main characters in jrpgs aren't that far off from the real thing.
