Will buy Ace Attorney.

Will download some of the other stuff.

PSP > DS.  I will even take a PSP Go over a DS.

He's a good troll, but that's still a shit list imo. I see about 6-7 games that are actually good and the rest are mediocre or remakes. And most of the good ones are strategy/tactics games. DS is and will always be a shitty rpg system.

I'm not into RPGs, so for me the DS has been the Ace Attorney/Castlevania system.  I barely even turned it on in 2009.  The only RPG I want to try is DQIX.

6 or 7 according to you is fine by me. I could post 100 with time and you'd still be hating, so there's no point trying to reason with you.

As for the guy that said the PSPGo is better than the DS, the GO is the biggest handheld bomb in the history of video games. You're likely the only nincompoop within 500 miles that owns one. It won't even surpass the Xbox 360's sales in Japan, so you better make sure you keep that shitty little handheld working because Sony won't be making any more pretty soon!

How has every Atlus game since Nocturne burned you?

digital devil saga - i tried playing this one many times,i always get bored near the castle bit,the dungeon are boring, the character single dimensional (i understand or i would say "I DO NOT COMPREHEND" it's supposed to be part of the story but it makes for character i want to punch in the face!) i don't like the skill system either,it just seems awfull easy to be able to cherry pick every skill i want (oh my,the enemies are using fire let me get the fire immune skill  ::)) not to mention that most of the time you end up wasting skill points because you don't have the money to buy the next skill set you want, why not let the player rack the SP and spend them as they want if you are going to put a money limit?

devil summoner - i love the setting but the battles were boring and it never felt like the game was going anywhere plotwise, most of the demon you get are useless, eliminating what essentialy makes shin megami different from any other rpg,i can barely remember anything about the game (i think the last boss i fought was the one who get inside the matrioska) the sequel had better battles and it was a better game but it felt equaly unremarkable (altough at least i can remember the plot so that's something i guess) especialy since it used some of the music and location of the previous game

persona - oh good lord, persona! i can't believe people call this the best rpg the ps2 has to offer,i remember reading the jgaf impressions and being so damned excited for this,i waited it like it was going to be the best thing ever, then i got to play it

- i hate the battle system,it's the most stupid thing ever conceived, the battle start, you hit everyone weakness and then bum rush, wash, rinse and repeat for every single battle fighting the same looking enemies on the same looking dungeon

- the story goes forward only with the moon phases, this mean that the plot goes at a pace that's slower than slow,it's unbearable,it doesn't help that most of the plot falls into the "WE HAVE TO WACK THE NEXT MONSTER OF THE WEEK"

- remove the two bits above and all you get are the s.links, they aren't bad but none of them is particulary interessing and they seems to be there just to pad the game so someone can say that "IT TOOK ME 100 HOURS TO FINISH THE GAME"

it was terrible, terrible, terrible i can't believe the amount of praise it got and the fact that there are 3 freaking releases of the game! 4 is better paced and tries to be less stupid but is mostly the same game

etrian odyssey - actualy a nice game but i really hate some of the distinguished mentally-challenged decision they have done like giving you the ability to buy the most powerfull warrior weapon at random after the first half of the game, what's the point? why not put this stuff at the end? it also seems to be awfull easy to break,as soon as your medic learn immunize everything starts to do crap damage,it's no wonder that the only boss who actualy gives you a decent fight later in the game is the last one since he has a skill that nulls buffs! why not give this skill to other boss or making the medic buff less prominent?

etrian odyssey 2 fixes the medic but then give super power to other classes,i'm also super annoyed by the limit skills, they take forever to rise so unless you go around like an idiot fighting battles on the purpouse of raising the limit bar you are never going to use them,if you use them expect to destroy anything you are fighting since they are 5 times more powerfull than anything else your character can pull off... here's a video

what's the point? why not making them easier to use but less distinguished mentally-challenged in actual scope?

it's also hard to not call the game "more of the same",to be fair i would say that i like etrian odyssey but not that much,it's more like a need to get my "must get loot" fix going on than anything else (heck i once played dungeon maker FOR THE LOOT!)

devil survivor - there is a really good battle system here, that's it,the game is repetitive (tough i think this of every SRPG that isn't a N1 game or final fantasy tactics so maybe i just hate srpg) the music is the most generic rock stuff i have ever heard repeated over and over, the game give you way too many "PROTECT THE DUMB NPC" mission and i couldn't care less about the "ZOMG THE DEMONS!!1!" story (i played up to day 6 before you ask)

and i guess with this i've spit most of my atlus venom, there have fun laughing over it or whatever

I prefer psp to ds because the psp has an emphasis on "on the go" games rather than story-based games. I think the games are better suited to portable gaming than the ones on the ds.

Hotel Dusk is the biggest piece of shit released in the past 10 years or so.  Even seeing pictures of it makes me fly into a rage.  I'm not picking up my DS until Nintendo makes a Drill Dozer sequel.

Remember when that cunt at EGM gave that game a 10/10 it propelled some of us to buy HD?

The DS started out as a pretty cool handheld, but declined pretty rapidly to another, typical Nintendo-branded shovelware platform. PSP decimates it in terms of quality gaming, but - hey - that goes without saying.

The Fake Shemp,

Put up the PSP 2010 list and I'll measure it against the DS '10 lineup for you. Quality of games this year goes to the DS, like last year and the year before. The best RPGs? DS. The best adventure games? DS. Better quality overall, IMHO. Not to mention when Pokebomb comes out in the west, it'll end up outselling ever PSP released this year combined. DS: the best selling system this gen and since the SNES. The numbers prove it.

I'm not that big on sales, TBH, but when games are selling 5, 10, 15, 20 million, on the way to being in the Guinness Record Book, all the while being critically acclaimed, then ever factor of ther success, in every spectrum, should be recognized and applauded. Games that make it to diamond status (10 million) should be applauded by everyone, fanboy or not, for its qualities. If it sells that much, it's fucking good and the only one with the problem with such great success are bitter HD fanboys who love sales just as much as some Nfans but only when they're on the winning side.

Despite certain allegations, I play games but more importantly, I buy games. A lot of games. If you little bitches did the same, your favorite games would probably crack the top 30 in the NPDs. All you parasites do is bitch and steal games. Not my type of people, sorry guys.

quite a few sweet looking games here, Im pumped for the new Ace Attorney.

I do find it strange how DS sells so much and the best games for it are JRPGs and Adventure games, two very niche genres. I guess NSMB and Mario kart are enough for the casual user.

The DS has one of the most overrated lineups in history, especially the post 2006 lineup.  For a system that is supposedly on par with the SNES, I expect a lot more than just SNES port jobs or stuff that would have only been acceptable if it was made 15-20 years ago like the SNES.

I didn't get burned on Hotel Dusk but GAF burned me on Phoenix Wright, which was the point where I knew better than to trust their hype.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Final Fantasy IV
Rondo of Swords
Final Fantasy XII: RW
Izuna 2
Luminous Arc
Mario & Luigi

i wonder when the ds' successor's gonna come out. the ds is still selling a lot and all, but the majority of those games is shovelware.

i imagine they're going to release it before the next generation of consoles too, which isn't likely to start after 2012/13 at most. not to mention they have to start developing the games for it.

so, maybe next year?

ananus: I suspect Nintendo will drag out the DS for as long as possible.  Once Nintendo catches wind of a PSP2, we'll probably see something on the successor.  Come to think of it, since they already have their graphics chip lined up (I think), possibly 2011.

Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey

However, these days I want to save money. Spending 40-60 bucks on a game that MAY be good feels like a waste to 2010 Himuro. 2010 Himuro only wants to buy and support games he KNOWS he will like!

I wish I had a flash cart so I could pirate ALL of these that AREN'T Strange Journey (maybe DQ too because it needs the sales).

I remember when you said you didn't pirate video games because you wanted to go into the video game industry and blah blah blah.  What the fuck happened?  Typical Himuro lies.

:lol What? "Go into the industry"? :lol I never said I don't pirate games, that'd be a total lie. I pirate old games or games I own but can't play, but rarely ever new games. However, these days I want to save money. Spending 40-60 bucks on a game that MAY be good feels like a waste to 2010 Himuro. 2010 Himuro only wants to buy and support games he KNOWS he will like!

Then I guess you lied.  You used to talk about how you wanted to get into the games industry, that's why you were studying graphic design or whatever.  "I'll pirate anime, but I'll never pirate games, because that's the industry I want to work in and I support the creators and companies!"

Good to know 2010 Himuro has even less respect for intellectual property rights and creators than 2009 Himuro did!

Himuro now wants to enter the movie or TV industry.

I blame Avatar.

You of all people should know that he barely has respect for tangible property rights, let alone intellectual ones

Himuro wants to go into animation now, preferably as an editor.

Yeah, I just read the thread.  He's thinking of either the navy or the film biz.

I don't think he'll get accepted by the navy with all his health issues, though (eyesight & hearing).
