One of the last funny things I remember them doing was the King Booker character before he left. It was so cheesey and stupid and weird and juvenille that it crossed back over into being funny like the 80's stuff.

When he says "Muppets I say" I crack up every fucking time no matter what. It's automatic.

That's because he's been on ECW for months.

They actually got him in a good feud with Sheamus with Goldust wrestling and acting much better than he has for a long time. But then they ended that, had Sheamus feud with Shelton Benjamin, quickly ended that, and moved Sheamus to RAW.

I doubt I could find it, but there's an awesome Foley promo where he's talking about a steel cage match that's him, Nation era Rock and Ken Shamrock; Foley talks about chocolate flavored testes as a breakfast cereal or something. Foley was awesome.

Occasionally they just do a very good job of building up a storyline and delivering a payoff. One I remeber a number of years ago was Kane was in love with Torrie and she was cheating on him with Xpac or something. So they strung it along for weeks and then finally had a showdown and the crowd was pumped. You rarely get good crowd "pops" anymore like you did when Hogan, or the Rock, or Stone Cold were at the top of their popularity. The crowd always seems subdued now by comparison.

Used to be into wrestling back in 1998-2000, but ever since the "Attitude" era ended, it just hasn't been the same. What little I've seen of more recent wrestling has been horrible, I miss the era of the nWo, ECW, The Rock, DX, Austin... now the closest I get to following wrestling is when I occasionally run into Foley around town.

He's not wrestling. He's the host of the show. RAW has shitty "hosts" now like SNL or something.

I could see him having an on air role for that amount of time like as a personality, or as a GM or something but not as a wrestler. He had to end his career because of a concussion and then he had a stroke. Full on real wrestling seems beyond him at this point, but we'll see I guess.

Wrestling used to be spectacular when every star wrestler wasn't a goddamn ripped, GQ cover caricature. What happened to all the charasmatic "blue collar" wrestlers like George "The Animal" Steele, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Ole Anderson, The Freebirds, Greg Valentine, and Ricky Steamboat? Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mick Foley were awesome tokens from a great era of wrestling.

I'm not saying it's going to produce good fights (or reduce ego's). I'm saying it shows they are being serious at least. I'd prefer Flair didn't wrestle and was just used as a talker but he does bring credibility with him. Same as Hogan. Which is why I'm watching for tonight at least.

It really is amazing how much the whole thing feels like the WCW (To be clear the down side of WCW) right down to the sloppy production. Like I said though, I applaud any competition at this stage.
