No, but he made fun of Paul McCartney's divorce.

This is incredible.  Everyone is drunk and doesn't give a shit about what's going on.  Meryl Streep was rambling for five minutes about nothing.  Harrison Ford could barely speak.

golden globes sort of just lost their niche

When have the Golden Globes been niche? When they gave Titanic the Globe in '97? Gladiator in 2000? A Beautiful Mind in 2001? Return of the King in 2003? The Golden Globes will jump on a hype train as fast as anyone.

Also James Cameron gave his acceptance speech entirely in the language of the Na'vi.

My personal pick would've been Collin Firth in A Single Man, but Jeff Bridges was awesome in Crazy Heart.

Which comedy lead did you think deserved to win over RDJ?

JGL or DDL.

Jeff Bridges did win... for best actor in a drama!  Crazy Heart isn't a comedy, duder.

The guy from A Serious Man 100%. He was really, really good.

In fact, I'd say RDJ would have been the last person on the nominee list who deserved the award. He was fine in Sherlock Holmes, but it was really just RDJ playing himself with an accent.

avatar being in the drama category was a bit wierd.

and i'll take downey jr's broody/funny take on sherlock's obsession and urge to deconstruct everyone and everything around him... over a wacky matt damon stunt performance the soderbergh crew usually pat their own backs for (clooney and pitt), gordon levitt's lovesick puppydog.... and ddl for nine has to be one of those kneejerk 'great actor' nods globes pass out to fill up space (depp for pirates 2)

 haven't seen a serious man.
actually I haven't seen any of those perfs in full lol

There was a full-scale model of the mech suit built, and it looks pretty much indistinguishable from the CG one.

Borys, did you actually like the dramatic and romantic angle that took up about 80% of the runtime?

So generally you hate love stories? What about something like True Romance?

I agree with with you then that the story just sucked.  Not because it was a love story, but because it just sucked.

Personally, I thought the CGI was great but I actually didn't like the 3D effect at all.  It didn't really add anything.

I liked the story quite a bit. Guess this is going to be a pretty divisive film for the foreseeable future.
