I'm immune to most of the stuff that's out there today in the porn industry. And I know it was cause of where I worked for a few years. All day everyday I was looking at porn for 12-18 hours for a large search engine at the time. Categorizing and helping them understand what user's want when they are searching for porn. It's also why I too have an innate ability to find stuff with just a pictures or two. It's not a skill I'm necessarily happy to have, but it sure does come in handy at times.
When I was done with my work there, I was forced to see a psychologist who worked with me about some of the things I saw on the job. I was subjected to a lot of the seedy stuff of the internet. Thing's that would normally get people put in jail due to the legality behind what was posted. I saw it all, the good, the bad, the obscene, and the downright wrong of humanity. They told me to take a 160 day break from any sexual activity. And I'm happy I was able to abstain, cause what was once an empty soulless activity became something more once again. There is a limit to how much is too much out there and I hit it.
What stood out to me was the fact that I was only ever really affected by the exploitation of children. I'd go talk to our team when I came across "nests" of child pornography, which usually led to arrests of large rings of traffickers here in the USA. We had onsite DOJ, FBI, Homeland Security liaisons that would sit and talk to us about what we saw along with all of the documented evidence. I made it personal to a certain extent, I wanted to go after those sicko's and make them pay for what they did. The problem was that once they took one down several others would pop up. It's a fight I wasn't fit to handle, the shit I saw really fucked me up.
But now I can thoroughly enjoy porn, but not your regular stuff. That's why I'm so happy to have Kink.com here in the bay area. I've been to a few of their live shows and I can't tell you how awesome those are to go see. Real life porn in your face > Everything else!
