I got rid of a lot of mine a few years back, and there's still some more I plan on getting rid of. like you I felt there was no reason to hold on to a game unless it was something I planned on replaying at some point. also idc if emulation isn't 100% spot-on; if I can dl it and play it without any major flaws then I'm gonna. beats the shit out of keeping space for old consoles and having to set them up again and all that bullshit. fuck a "pure" experience when I can save anywhere, have higher resolutions, and faster loading times.
only stuff I'm keeping now is newer games that will increase in value and sentimental stuff like my Sega CD Lunars and my boxed copies of Doom games.
