i tried the boss again and he didn't use his spam-mastic move instead he attacked twice my member with the biggest DF rating and then used sleep (which didn't hit) so i guess luck plays a huge role during these boss fight
Haha. I played Romancing SaGa for ps2 for like 5 hours. What a turd. Worst rpg I played on ps2 by far
same! since everybody talked like it was a matter of "getting it" i tried playing with different character,i tried hunting for different side-quest,i tried anything but i simply couldn't get anything out of it,it was like squeezing a turnip
Did you really expect a SaGa game to be anything but awful?
eh barring the horrible boss it hasn't been bad so far,it really feels like an old game but without all the horrible slowness and clunkiness that usualy comes paired with it,it even features visible monster on the field that you can dodge!
just to give an idea of the scenario,my next part of the quest consist into

reaching some giant valley so i can make myself small so i can fight some goblins who went inside a holy priest
the game works like the original in that you make a party out of 4 different kinds of character, humans gains stat at random, can use every item and are geared toward phsyical stuff, esper gains stat at random, gains skill at random (and since skills count as items,if their inventory is full they forget a skill to learn new one, tough at least you can control what they forget) and are geared toward magic, robot gains stat by equipping more stuff and don't have any equipment limit (so they can equip 4 helmet for example as long as they have the inventory space to do so) and finaly monster don't gain stat but instead morph into different monster by eating meats, the game doesn't tell you into what you morph next (i ended up morphing into a lot of crappy monster before settling to a rock monster that had a quite big DF stat) which is frustating but there is a handy book that list, all the various monster combination you have discovered
as you progress you also unlock relics, which give you more power like finding hidden treasure's or stat boost or elemental immunity, apparently there are 77 of them and the whole point of the game it's to gather them all
that stuff was all in the original, new to this version are muses,if you finish battle in a certain way you get a point reward (right now i only have the muse of speed so i get a bonus if i can finish a battle in a single turn) you then use those point to buy "threads of fate" which let you pull off team attacks, there are different kinds of threads of fate and apparently different kinds unlock different kind of event.....
....it's not clearly explained, while the "team attack" part is quite clear and nice the other implication are confusing and stupid, truly showing this is a kawazu game
