The sports one is pretty good. It's like how people played the Wii before they realized they can sit down and waggle with their wrist.

The driving one makes the people seem confused about how to play so they awkwardly smile and think "I don't know what's happening but this is fun(?)" The two asian kids are completely lost; Microsoft is racist and thinks asian people can't drive.

Kinect Animals is weird. Parents watch as their kids play dead because a fake animal on the TV does. Maybe that is supposed to be charming from a parent's perspective. Better hope the fake animals don't start defecating on the floor.

distinguished mentally-challenged AI. The computer cannot wage war to save its panties and diplomacy boils down to 'gimme luxury items or I'll invade you'.
Computer crawls to a halt near the end of the game because it has to process a ton of information.
Less content than previous Civ games, but if you compare vanilla Civ5 to Civ4 it is probably close to parity.

What really irks me is that there are people STILL saying they wouldn't pay more than 15 dollars for it. I could easily see this being 40-50 bucks realistically, but it sounds it like it has a lot of content but idunno everyone has these weird pricing philosophies towards arcade style games.

hard enough every time I see "it should have been an XBLA game" in a review for a shooter. I'll gladly be paying $80+ for Dodonpachi in November and I'm 100% sure I'll get more playtime out of it than most games this gen.

We knew that since TGS though. Just means the series that was created on Sony will now run like shit on Sony Hardware if Enslaved is anything to go by (and it should since it's same dev, same engine).

Too bad there's no PC version. Not that the game will be any good, but all UE3.0 games should get PC versions since the engine runs so damn good on PC.

Azura's Wrath was showcased with gratuitous QTEs that required no finesse. It's a shameless god of war ripoff and more ill-fated projects from Capcom at targeting the west. Or not.

Bayonetta has QTEs too. I'll wait until there's actual gameplay footage before judging it. It might not even be an action game in the end, but the info from Famitsu a week or two ago sounded pretty good.

They must protect their engine from outsiders so they don't steal any of their secrets.

Anyone think the lucasarts Monkey Island push is all leading up to something?

I mean the franchise disappears for a while and then in the last year or so:
-Monkey Island 1 complete HD remake
-Monkey Island 2 complete HD remake
-Tales of Monkey Island
-Guybrush in Force Unleashed 2

My bet is it's all building up hype for Monkey Island 5 by Double Fine (Gilbert + Schafer project)
I just hope they don't make it a TPS, since Double Fine seems against straight adventure games in the modern era.

Most Ue3 games look like plastic mud. Batman being no exception. I guess this has to do with the normal mapping. Things like source and mt framework seem far more versatile when it comes to varying art styles.

I saw the giantbomb quicklook of the new new xbox experience (http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-the-new-nxe/17-3290/)

I don't like it. The new avatars are creepy and everything just looks really sterile. Hopefully it is faster and that makes up for it.
