If anyone knows what the Razer Onza is (potentially the first quality 3rd party 360 controller, unfortunately, wired) I finally got mine in the mail today and just played with a tiny bit. It's pretty alright. It's super comfortable, the face buttons are super great, and the added shoulder button is cool. But the analog sticks, while better, are awkward to click in. The d-pad surprisingly sucks more than the original 360 one. The triggers take some getting used to; they are further back and have more range, but they're less sensitive, so you barely need to touch them for them to press down all the way.

I'll buy one again if it is wireless

oh, and the buttons light up and I don't like that. I don't get the purpose. I've been using that new grey sterile 360 pad, and now I'm holding a christmas tree.

a few more random things:
analog sticks are raised slightly higher than the 360 ones and have more range.

start and select buttons are on the bottom of the controller, which is weird considering how much back is used in games. You can reassign it to the second bumper for Bad Company 2, but I still don't get the point. They're even sunk in and harder to press than the existing 360 ones, and they kept the guide button in the middle.

to clarify, it's part alien and part bad. It's bad because not very tactile, mushy and drags; the other buttons on the controller are great and feel like mouse clicks. It's alien because it's four buttons with each piece shaped like a triangle pointing to the center. It feels very weird to use even when navigating menus, and I'd say 2D games (and especially fighting games) would be a nightmare. It is more designed for call of duty when you want to press a single a single direction consistently, but I don't really see the point.

also, the shoulder buttons/bumpers are weird if you're really tuned to the 360 pad. If I reach for the bumpers like I do on the 360 pad, I hit the multi-function buttons; the bumpers are closer to hinge of the trigger on a regular 360 pad. The triggers are pushed a bit back and raised up. I think it could be better once I adjust but I definitely do need time to adjust.

I got it more for my PC than 360. I'm lazy and won't give up wireless on my 360, but I've been using the same wired 360 pad on my PC for over five years now. If they do make a wireless version and fix the issues, I'll buy that too.

The buttons are really cool. It's hard to explain because I haven't played another controller with buttons like these. It's not clicky like the PSP Go or GBA SP. It's still a very satisfying press, but it's so fast. It feels like you can press a button three or more times in the time it would take to press the same button on a regular controller. I'm gonna load up incredible crisis in mame and fuck that shit up.

Yeah, that's definitely a line that doesn't exist in Japanese law. So much crap in comics and anime that, were it shot with live-action actors of the correct age, would result in some righteous jail time. Meanwhile, I think there are a number of western countries which are already saying any depiction of underage sex is a crime, even in drawing, CG, or text. I've been curious where Japan will take the law when CG becomes so representational that it becomes indiscernible from living actors.

It's definitely worth investing in the component cables over the standard RGB even though it's not 'HD' if you haven't done that yet...
