I want to replay this game over and over. ZoE2 is still the only game I've finished in 1 sitting. I remember the day I opened it up and played 6 hours straight because I couldn't put it down. Rollercoaster ride of a story with amazing gameplay/music/visuals. I hope one day Japan makes another game as good as this.

That's one of the few games I actually do want to be ported to the PS3/360(or PSP2 now). There is one section towards the end of the game where the frame rate absolutely dies, and that section is otherwise awesome because it's musou-ish where you're just murdering all these scrub enemies.

Zero-shift is still one of the best moves/upgrades/whatever you get in a game. You're so overpowered once you get it.

I had the Light Boy accessory that's clamped on top of the Gameboy. It really sucked.

ZOE2 is easily one of my favorite games of all time. That trailer (which is the attract mode trailer with the final game) is still OMG AWESOME even if it does ruin the plot.

That's their quick look "EX" shit where they basically get someone from a publisher/developer to shill during the entire video. They're usually not worth watching because the commentary can be summarized as: HOW AWESOME IS YOUR GAME? WOW IT LOOKS AWESOME.

But since it's Shane, it's cool. He gets a pass for being part of the best podcast of all time.

I dunno; I'd call that the McDonald's factor, which is a marketing factor on which McD's relies. They need to get the nostalgia in there. However, Nintendo games aren't targeted at manbabies. They're sticking with licenses which have broad brand recognition, but there's not really an aspect of Nintendo targeting those now-adult players of Mario titles.

This kid is not typical at all, though. Most families stick the kid with either a ds/pokemon combo, or itouch, or they get a wii to be used by the family. This is just one particularly spoiled child.

Nintendo is always gonna do fine with kids. They will always have a very strong if not dominant space in the handheld market.

The problem will be at least on the home console side can they also break through to everybody else which they did with the Wii but weren't able to do with the Gamecube and N64. That is a much scarier proposition imo than whether kids are also getting i-os devices.

Quite the contrary. I'd love for an MMO to play with some friends who play on console. The caveat is I dont actually want to pay for one. So Free Realms sounds like it could be cool to zone out to after work.

I loved playing PSU Beta with friends (yes I know it not technically an MMO).

I'm curious what happens with the Dungeon Fighter announcement earlier.

A free mmo would work on consoles but then anything "free" works or will at least be downloaded a billion times. But I have big doubts about large numbers of people paying a monthly fee to play any mmo on consoles. It's not why people traditionally play consoles.

Not that surprising. Every extra 120k+ X360s they sell in America each month is offset by the 120k+ PS3s sold in Japan each month. Then Europe leans slightly toward PS3 outside of UK so in the end they're basically going to be about even WW.

Doesn't change the fact Sony went from being a HUGE WW leader and #1 in the US to #3 in the US and just barely tying WW with X360. They need to recover the US market if they want to be successful and I don't see how it's possible with how strong the X360 brand is in America. MS would have to really reallllly fuck up their console followup. PSP2 isn't going to help.

Basically some analyst firm is speculating about active userbases.Wii has about 75 million active userbase according to them.

Mikami (who's no longer with PG) and Kamiya are two of the best developers in the world, but the jury's still out on the rest of them. MadWorld was garbage, so Anarchy Reigns better be good. I liked what little I played of Infinite Space too... so I guess it's just the MadWorld guy who sucks.
