A reliable source told iWaggle3D today that the Raiden-centered MGS spin-off Metal Gear Solid Rising has switched developer, escaping Kojima Production to infiltrate Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Vanquish). Viewtiful Joe and Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya is apparently directing the game.

But wait, there is more...

While unable to confirm nor deny Move support for Rising, our source shed some light on future plans regarding the MGS franchise as a whole.

Besides confirming the PS3 remake of Peace Walker (likely to be a "PSP Remaster" with possibly 3D support, albeit he couldn't tell for sure), he also revealed that the next installment in the "main" MGS franchise (Metal Gear Solid 5, basically) is scheduled for this generation as a multiplatform release, with PS3, Xbox 360, NGP and "possibly 3DS" mentioned as landing platforms.

Finally, PC remakes of MGS1, MGS2, MGS3 and MGS4 are bound to be released digitally via Valve's e-Commerce portal Steam.

Of course, like with any rumor, you might want to digest all of the above with a pinch of salt. While I have no reason not to trust the source that shared these details (I wouldn't relay this information to you otherwise), internal production plans can change, so...

Hopefully the upcoming E3 will set things in stone with some official confirmations from Konami.

House of the Dead Overkill is getting ported to the PS3 (for Move) with two new levels (and hd and 3d)

It's one of the few good third party Wii games. I own the Wii version and might still pick it up.

Looks better now. I like jrpgs are constantly evolving (despite ignorant people always saying otherwise) and incorporating things that worked in other games. While it's not quite Xenoblade, it looks to be at least a step in the right direction for field chat and exploration. Combat is lacking the flash and speed of Graces and more like Symphonia/Abyss/Vesperia as expected.

Tales games always have great art direction. Art direction/Characters/Battles are their strong points. Music/Story tend to be the weakpoints.

I like the Hamasaki song in the story PV though.

what stands out compared to Vesperia or PS3 Graces how much better this new one is animated. The other two look like high-res PS2 games (in Graces case, it was) with stiff animation but this looks PS3/360 quality. Plus I like how they dropped the camera and have a nice field view.

I think they'd be smart if they port Xilia to 360 as well in the mean time. Vesperia did pretty damn well for a niche rpg on fucking xbox. People are starved for jrpgs. If they put the game on both systems they'll definitely get some pay.

wait, do you mean the cutscenes? because who cares about the cutscenes? the Graces one has that really awkward stage play look to it while Xillia is stiffer and more appropriate for the anime look, but both will be stupid and dumb regardless.

The combat and everything looks way nicer in Xillia and that's what actually matters. Stories in Tales games are C-tier anime at best. The cast can be entertaining, but that's usually from supplementary dialog and not the lame pantomiming cutscene shit. Like, Rita's strap-on moment from Vesperia was all text.

though, to contradict myself, I watched the Xillia video right before making this post and the battle cutscene at the end looked nice. Doesn't seem like they need the anime ones anymore because the game looks nice enough on its own.

Looks good. I wish I liked soccer games. But it is pretty amazing how fast they turned around that series. I remember when Winning Eleven was the king and FIFA was considered a joke and it doesn't seem like that long ago.

I don't know if I really like the direction they've taken with FIFA in 10 and 11. 08 gelled with me so well, a great balance between arcadey fun and realism, I like 11 a lot more than 10 which I didn't really like at all, especially the single player, but playing multi with casual friends (pretty much why I buy the game) is always more fun with 08 or the SA World Cup game. 10 and 11 are slower, and more technical and realistic which is cool for single player, not so great for multi.
