The Sony Brawler is going bomb. So very, very, badly.

There is nothing in Sony's IP library that interest me enough to buy the game for sheer fanservice. It has to have really solid core mechanics and a robust feature set in order to sucker me into buying it.

Smash Bros at its absolute core is a really smartly designed, creative game - it just gets nearly everything else wrong.  Control, the actual fighting - nothing has a good feel to it and just makes me want to play a Capcom vs game.  This game already look dead set on making all the same mistakes as Smash Bros did (analog control in a 2D platform environment, ick) for sheer lack of creativity, but I doubt they'd be shameless enough to rip off the actual good things about Smash Bros (King of the Hill + damage-makes-you-fly-further-thereby-changing-combos).  I'm eager to be wrong about this, but I think this is going to be pointless.

Re: Sony Brawler.  Real talk, and sorry for being a racist, but imo white people can't make fighting games with deep gameplay systems;  Maybe Skullgirls will prove me wrong.  MK is sort of decent, but still not really on the same level as a Japanese fighting game.  Even Smash, as a party game, has a shitton of depth and balance in the gameplay systems.  I can't see some no-name western studio pulling it off.

it's too bad for other MMO makers the DC game went free to play...functionally takes care of any mindless grinding I need to get out of my system for free.  It'll also make the value proposition that much more difficult for any future when the only one on there is free AND has a DC license. 

now, if something like Guild Wars or PSO would come out on console, I'd be quite happy.

yeah, i sold my Dark Souls LE day 1 because of that.  Happens a lot with day 1 stuff - that's when you can resell for the most because people feel like they'll never ever get it and want it right away (also, the now out-of-date dark souls guide and MGSHD LE, which is still expensive, but it won't fetch $150 again for a long time.) And, since it's the current gen, publishers notice immediately and reprint as fast as possible, even on limited editions, it seems.  Though there are some exceptions. 

so, yeah, pro tip if you guys wanna make a few bucks. 

edit: i'm a tard, MGSHD LE PS3 is back up to $150.  oh well.  If it's like subsistence LE, it'll gradually go down over time as less people care about it...got $300 for MGS3 Subsistence LE on day 1, price went down hours later and didn't get that high since

Don't see it selling as well as Call of Duty, Battlefield, or Uncharted though--I don't see it placed on pre-orders charts. Perhaps Japanese gamers know that this is a game meant to be pirated and modded.
