the vid in case anyone else nerds out on this stuff:




anyone can see the similarities at the end of the vid-- the menus are practically the same.  but also the character's animations when jumping and wall running were practically 1:1 to ninja gaiden, aside from physics.  The stage intro splash screen with the red background is in the Sigma series...not as much red in NG xbox, I don't think.  But the text formatting is also just like NG.

too bad it only runs in debug mode on modded xboxes , i'd like to try it.  Pretty neat stuff...I wonder if it was Team Ninja working on this game or if it's some other team's work that they took for NG.

Cool vid. Looks too western to be made by Team Ninja to me, maybe they just bought this once these guys went bust.

Yeah I was kind of suprsied/bummed that in PSO2 they only had Miku's outfit/hair. I'd roll with Luka or Rin gear.

I wanna play it, mess around with Quest Mode.  I have an iso of Tobal 2 translated, but I'll have to play that on ePSXe, unless I get a CRT and a PS1.  playing these on PS3, otherwise.  I do want to get the FFVII demo, for nostalgia's sake.

I have a goal of beating Quest Mode in both of those games...shit is like a rogue like fighting game.  insanity.

Yeah, I like those kinds of modes in fighters-- tekken force and shit like that.  Its a shame people shit on them most of the time.

I liked the roguelike mode in Tobal no 1 (haven't played 2 though... for whatever reason). I think Tekken Force mode in T3 is really clunky but the voiceover that says "Chicken!" is one of the best things ever in a game.

The tekken single player mode in 4 or 5 (just remember playing it on ps2) sucked.  You could only plays as Jin and it didn't feel like regular tekken fighting.  But the tekken 3 one was fun.

Some weird minigames/spin-off of fighting games ou there.  There was a soul calibur wii game, the tekken nina game for ps2, and that virtua fighter one.  Best of them is mortal kombat shaolin monks.

if you think you'll want to play Nier at some point, i'd pick up a copy now.  seems like one of those games that spikes in price once people realize all the copies have been eaten up (i.e. once the "PS3/360 gems you missed" articles start rolling in.)  Already listed at $28 for the cheapest used PS3 copy on amazon, but you can still easily find it at gamestop for like $10.

It's not gonna get a reprint ever and it's a cult hit, so it's going to go up as copies dry up.  Prices have crept up on ebay too-- between ebay and amazon, i'm not sure of a better way to gauge the value of a game, since that's where the buyers are.

there are always some dumb side characters, but i like the main cast of PW too, so I'm hoping they're in there.
