Bought Don't Starve : Giant Edition. Only played a couple of starts but already can see how it is an intense time sink.
Great art and slick presentation too.

Free Catherine DLC costume that plays something off of Catherine's OST in battle.

This game's DLC choices are on-point, especially with the OST changes.

It's pretty crazy how much the main guy looks like Vincent with just a clothing swap.  I'm definitely going to be rocking these after they come out.

I'm not sure if the Giant Edition comes with Shipwrecked, but it's a pretty great expansion that's really refreshing after the OG version starts getting a little stale.

On the other hand, the PC version of Gears 4 seems like an awesome port.

Just watched some Persona 5 footage and I really don't like the change in camera style during battle. They also made the personas a transparent-ish blue color for some reason..

That's a really odd comment.  P5 has some odd design decisions, but the camera is fine?  Looks like every rpg there is?  The Personas being a little transparent is a thing, but you still see them pop out and animate and it looks good.

The summer camp looks really charming and good. Actually, it's what my head remembered the original looking like, which is a good sign for art direction and staying current on technical art.

I want to cheer for this game, but I also am already feeling deflated. I love DF's work, I do. I have been contemplating a replay of Psychonauts or Brütal Legend just for the fun stories and art style. I just don't know if this is going to hit the right mark, after that weird VR experiment they did.

It's not a big deal since you fight against them instead of shadows so you see them plenty in game normal-style.

New Red Dead should revolve building something up. There hasn't been a Rockstar game in quite a long time where you bought properties, rackets. Starting from nothing and owning the entire map. RDR and GTA V had that stuff technically, but it was shoehorned in completely.

I want Vice City and San Andreas ownership/rackets to come back. Owning a saloon and having to recruit/manage prostitutes, owning a ranch and doing ranch shit, or being an outlaw in general with a posse you recruited. Morality system can influence who targets you and why.

Even something as simple as the gang turf/warfare system from San Andreas coming back would be nice. There needs to be more side content that feeds back to some sense of progression, rather than playing horseshoes, poker, and can I not stab my finger minigames.
OH!

I could see them building racketeering and weed-running into 2BULLY 2WORTH, but I'd bet money that this is just a remaster, prelude to getting their shit together for a proper RDR sequel.

I have this theory that is there is more than 4 years between the time a game was announced and its release it's universally going to be a let down. I personally can't think of a game that was announced with that amount of time between it and release that didn't end up being a disappointment.

To be fair, the current version of Doom was technically not announced until 2013. But Doom 4 [aka "Call of Doom"] was announced all the way back in 2008.

Tomb Raider took 5 years and was pretty damned good. I'm looking at the singleplayer, mind you, not the strapped on multiplayer.

IIRC, Duke Nukem Forever was surprising in it being not-trash when it finally came out, wasn't it?

Red Dead Revolver was pretty good when it finally came out, but had lost quite a bit of its edge.

Somewhere along the line it was sold to Rockstar or Take Two. Used to be a Capcom game.

Yeah, it had been a Capcom game; I think Rockstar San Diego used to be Angel Studios. They did a few interesting PS2 games, but I remember playing Revolver at Capcom's TGS booth and being amazed that they would run the tutorial as a young white kid running around shooting adults. That didn't end up staying in the game.
