Saw that Assassin's Creed Japan stars Yasuke and cacs are going insane in a frenzy. White men truly are pathetic weaklings.

There are some Japanese people not liking it either- "I wanted to play as a Japanese ninja," etc.

SURPRISE BITCHES YOU *DO* play as a Japanese ninja.  The main character is a kunoichi and she is the one who does all the assassin's Creed style missions and recruits members to a plan and builds up a base. Yasuke is apparently going to be something different play wise.

For all the claims of this game being "woke" I think it's a pretty cool choice that they made with Yasuke. Makes it stand out.

Most likely not going to buy it however because ass crud games are shit.

Why are they using the “he was only a retainer” argument? These dudes know nothing about samurai. Mitsuhide Akechi, one of Oda’s most loyal men, and the man infamous for betraying and killing him, was one of his retainers. Yet no one would debate Mitsuhide was a samurai. Moreover, even Hideyoshi Toyotomi, the future shogun and one of the three great uniters, was also a retainer of Oda. Essentially, being a retainer is high rank and definitely qualifies under the prerequisites of the definition of samurai. They’re just too ignorant and racist to know otherwise.

He is listed as a retainer in some articles, but keep in mind that right now for some reason people are deciding to edit Wikipedia to make it fit their narrative. He was allowed to own a house and he did have a sword. But he wasn't a samurai- and who cares because it's just a title.  Also none of this matters because it's a video game and it's not trying to be historically accurate. It's not even the first time he's been in a video game for that matter. He was in samurai Warriors 5 for example.

Nobody is saying that everybody in Japan is against this. I am quite certain that there's plenty of people who are just happy to see a game with the setting in Japan and think it's cool that they went with Yasuke- he had a bit of a surge in popularity a few years ago too what with an anime and sw5 too.

Ubisoft allegedly changed the original main character of this game to yasuke and I assume the female ninja. I still don't understand what the uproar about this is to be honest with you- this makes the game stand out more compared to other similar type of titles.

And I'm not sure what the tweet you posted really means. I also have a B.A. in East Asian studies from my university- doesn't make me an expert on this. Yasuke's story is vague.

Only thing I'll say about this is that, I love Viking shit... But Valhalla sucked ass... Couldn't finish that bloated mess.  Fuck Ubisoft.

I like 'original' Star Wars shit too, but with how Ubi is plastering a massive paywall behind half the content in Outlaws?.. Fuck them... Keeping my money.

And with this AC, being the same team behind Valhalla, I'm just curious, what makes this game so exciting that hasn't been done already? And most likely better? Will this be better than Sekiro? Tenchu? Onimusha? Nioh? Ghost of Tsushima? Rise of the Ronin?  I would not bet on it.  Easy pass for me.

Cacs have been mad at black main characters including Mafia III and Prototype 2. They will say this is about being in Japan but Yasuke was a real person and a real samurai. No, it’s about blackness. Crackers are the enemy and treat us as such.

The past few years have had numerous samurai games you can choose from: Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima, the upcoming Rise of the Ronin, and more. Many begged Ubi to make this game for over a decade and they were beaten to the punch in more ways than one. I really enjoyed Rise of The Ronin myself. Really was kind of an interesting entry into Japanese history and culture.

The kunoichi is based off the Iga clan so still kinda real.

Ghost of Tsushima pc runs very well, but its a hard game! Well on hard at least :p.

Game is pretty good.  Once you get the timing for combat down, it's pretty stellar and cinematic and feels good as hell.  The stealth is good, but pretty average.  Landscapes are obviously beautiful, but the second half will get boring cuz it gets really repetitive.  Great game over all, just a bit too much by the numbers, but feels remarkably authentic. 

I'm one of the few people that feels the game does not need a sequel, but we all know it's happening, which is unfortunate to me... Just hope they really expound more on levels design (bigger, more complex compounds) and more cool ninja techniques.. Similar to the cool shit you could do in Tenchu: Fatal Shadows.

I keep going back and forth on buying one of those lower end handhelds. This GBA SP is appealing. As was the Sega Saturn pad with a screen one. But I have the Steam Deck for bigger emulation. And if you spend a little more the Android handhelds seem more versatile.

The main character is obviously the Shinobi waifu doing the stealth, the "warrior" class in these modern AC games is just the Funky Kong easy mode for players who can't stealth.

This.  The GBA SP knock-off is like $58 and a custom os developer already has a working sleep function.



The form factor makes this super pocketable/portable which is also why a lot of people are interested.
