Yeah, that cast looks better than most of the rpg casts this generation, west or east to me.
I have no problem with Nomura designs. He is a excellent character designer.
I just posted something about this in the gaf thread, but I am getting the feeling more and more that people attuned to western tastes simply hate the unrealistic. They hate using their imaginations, they hate colors, they hate positivism.
Maybe this all stems from the western viewpoint that those things (colors, "happy" aka happy meal, dreams, fantasy, etc...) are all associated with "kids" stuff. And adults are looked down upon if they enjoy those. Whereas in Japan adults enjoy them just as much as kids and it's accepted as normal.
