I just finished TMNT the 360 game. So crappy. How crappy? The whole game can be more or less slept through, including a couple mindless boss encounters. But the end of the game requires some insane, timed platforming, and then culminates in a multi-stage, start from the beginning if you die multi-boss battle with single-hit knockback/fall to death gameplay AND a mechanic that they only mentioned once, halfway through the game. :maf

Oh, Guitar Hero III. Not a bad game, but the worst, most stingy Achievements of any game I own. I've played the hell out of it, and still only have less than 300 in it.

Crazy Taxi Double Punch (PSP). This would probably be a good game if the controls could be remapped. I can never get used to controlling something which has different controls than every other driving game on the PSP.

I've got a feeling Warhammer Battle March is going to end up on this list if I ever open it

and this football game on the Sega CD that was showed you come FMV cutscene after you picked a play.

lol i think i know what you're talking about.  There were only two teams, and after you picked your play you'd watch the outcome in one of a handful of grainy-ass fmv.  and that was the entire game.  so glad i only rented that one.

anyway:

bought it based on the cover art; man was i happy to find out that the game moved slow as fuck and had NO MID-MISSION CHECKPOINTS EVEN AT THE BOSSFIGHTS

YAY i'm having so much fun protecting the poor dumb little girl by mashing on square over and over and over and over..

what the fuck is even going on in this game? i don't know but at least you can get laid

FUCK YOU MAF :maf

Minesweeper on XBLA is by far the dumbest purchase I've made in recent times.  Don't know what I was thinking.

Airwolf was the first game I bought for my NES, because it had a cool helicopter on the cover. I learned that lesson the hard way. :'(

The only game I ever sold.  Fuck you Turok 2.

Just thought of another one. Carmageddon 64. I swear the frame rate in that game hovers around 5-8 fps. A children's flip book is smoother than that game. Yes I own a lot of bad games  :-\

And this was just awful. Ruined RPGs for me for a good 6 years

I bought this because some magazine said it was a great game to whet your appetite for Ocarina or Time.

This made me reconsider all future collector's editions. Such a giant pissbucket of cum. Waste of an extra $10 plus the framerate was Jet-Force-Gemini level.

Why the fuck would anyone buy Minesweeper?  Doesn't it still come with Windows?

I didn't think Turok 2 was all that bad.  The only thing I remember really hating about it (framerate and fog aside because that was pretty par for the course at the time) were the enormous gaps between save points.  I think they were occasionally well over an hour apart.

My thought was that I wanted to play it from the comfort of my couch.  I am still totally perplexed as to why I thought it was a good idea because the game sucks horribly with a controller, a fact I somehow missed while trying the demo.  Everyone berate me, for wasting my money is not punishment enough for such phenomenal stupidity. :'(

I think it was OK and far from the worst game ever, but it must have made a special impression on me.  I think it was the huge distance between savepoints, as I realised I'd never have the time to play it.

My brother owned Airwolf because he was a fan of the TV show.  What a horrible, horrible game.

That's such a tragic story. :(

Ring of Red wasn't THAT bad, but since you couldn't save mid-game and the matches took FOREVER, it was a serious fucking chore to play.  I don't know anyone who didn't play more than a few rounds at most before calling it quits for good.

As I was driving to work this morning, I remembered that owned Where's Waldo? for NES for a short period of time:

 :derp :derp :derp :derp

Actually, it wasn't horrible, once you knew what to look for. I could easily beat the game with plenty of time to spare once I was in the zone. The only hard part is the subway tile puzzle. Ending sucks, by the way.

I always wonder why this game doesn't get mentioned in threads like this, but then that's probably because most people had the good sense to avoid it.

it was a trash game, but it tried something different. it didn't really trick you into anything either. when you played it, you got exactly what you knew you'd get. for better or for worse.

I have fond memories of that game, because it had a dual use of placating people who happened to be way too messed up in the bad way at my house. probably because it was boring and kind of shitty, but hey.

I bought Mach Rider at the same time as Excitebike because I saw that they were "programmable" and you could make your own tracks. :o  Of course, Excitebike is amazing, but Mach Rider is fucking awful.

Yeah, I guess Tail of the Sun was at least...interesting. I actually remember kinda liking it back then, but I think that was just because (aside from the fact that I was 9) it was the first legit open world game I played in 3D. Still, when I tried to play it a few years later I wanted to break the disc in half and use the pieces for seppuku

It actually really is when you take into account that he was like 8 years old and that was the only thing our parents gave him for his birthday. :lol

fuck gamefan.  a friend of mine collects old issues and jesus christ those guys were fucking lame.  EVERY game got great ratings unless it was a less-than-perfect arcade port, or later on, 3D games after it became cool to hate on them and pine for the old days.  They gave Bubsy 3D super high scores ffs.  shit mag

When I bought a ps3 I got some random-ass NBA game with it. So I went to Gamestop and said that I'd gotten it for my birfday and that I wanted to trade it so I got MGS4 for free :pimp

But then MGS4 was so violently shitty I felt like I lost out  :duh

MGS4, retroactively making the entire franchise, and most of Konami's catalog, shitty.

I sort of liked it when it first came out, but even I knew back then that it wasn't even close to being as good as Ocarina of Time.

I bought a ton of shit when stores were liquidating their Dreamcast stock.  Hanging around on the DC forums like Blast City, a lot of shit games got hyped to hell and with these supposed unappreciated gems going for $5 or less, I got a lot of shit like Elemental Gimmick Gear, TrickStyle, and others.

The worst one I played from the bunch was Seventh Cross: Evolution, a game I bought from $1.99 and was panned by even the most hyperbolic Segatards.  I expected shit and shit is what I got:

I continued to buy a lot of hyped shitware after the Dreamcast until I stopped listening to GAF.
