Are they good forever?  Because if so I have like 10-20 of them from all the X360 games I've bought over the years.  My current sub doesn't run out until November so I'm still good for a while.

Should be.  I got enough of them from that website glitch that everyone abused to last me a couple of years.

Those codes we spammed had a very short shelf life - March or April.

Will have this game today.

I'm loving it. No complaints at all. Demo just sucked, and so does the intro tutorial.

How do you figure out where the supply points are?

They seem to be scripted. Once you do your first lightbomb a bunch of them appear on the map.

i'm stuck trying to reach an absorption unit at the top of the "brilliant rise" tower/hotel/whatever

i'm level 4 agility, you should be able to reach just about anything at level 4, yet there's nothing to grab on to up there and i can't jump high enough

i'm so fucking mad right now i can hardly see straight, i've run around that goddamned building a dozen times

finally made it, turned out to be a tiny ledge/lip on the building which kept bumping me away just enough where i couldn't grab

too bad when they were busy making the city brown and crumbled they didn't destroy all the bullshit ledges, now i remember how much i hated those in the first game

okay, now i think i've run into a glitch

trying to bust up a cell tactical location, but no enemies are in sight (they're on the minimap, though), and the narrator keeps telling me to take them out

so, i figure they're on top of the buliding and start to climb it, but the yappy motherfucker keeps telling me to get back to the tactical location

so, can't kill enemies, can't climb building to get to them, just great

this game kinda starts to suck pretty bad toward the end

i think i'm just gonna sell my unopened amazon copy with the agent suit dlc code and send this back to gamefly when i'm done

i just remembered i read a review where someone mentioned a mission being impossible to complete without a co-op partner, guess this must be the one because i can't leave the area around the marker to go kill the cell without aborting the mission

Thanks for the help, FatalT.  I had to bail out, I have a terrible headache, hope you heard me say goodbye.  Turns out I was wasting time on that stronghold.  You'd think since the narrator guy won't shut his fucking mouth for two seconds that he'd occasionally impart some useful information, like, say, "You can't reach this Cell Stronghold until your agility is level 5."

Meh.  Crackdown... more like LET DOWN.
Looking for another co op game to play.  We're thinking of Transformers.  I know it's not great, but co op could make it fun.  And we're both classic tformers fans.  It's got to be better than c down 2.

there's no way ferricide or I would ever play a 50 Cent game.  It could be the bestest game of the millennium and neither of us would care.  I'm going to try and find a copy of tformers to borrow or a cheap copy somewhere.  I'm hoping Dead Rising 2 isn't such a lame piece of poo.  I want some good co op.

I tried playing this again tonight and I went to the 3rd city and got infinite rocket spammed like I was playing NG2 wtf
Then I stole one of the heat seeking homing rocket launchers and tried to go back to the agency to put it in a safehouse or something and I couldn't find a way back in to wherever the safehouse is?

I don't really know what I'm doing besides collecting orbs.  Are you supposed to stick to one island and do all the missions there before moving to the next?

yeah, a guy on gaf explained it to me, after accidentally aborting 3 or 4 times when i moved out of range i had it stuck in my head that the only way up was to climb the red brick building to get to the white indents in hope tower and use those

i still think it was a bullshit trick for them to play, every other stronghold is either on ground level or on a level plane and they never bother to explain why that single stronghold is broken up like that

i think the headset jack on my controller was acting up again, i could only hear you once in a while so i didn't catch you saying you were still at level 4 or telling me how to get there, thought you were just clearing it out for me since i couldn't reach it :lol

Got to spend a little bit of quality time with the game last night. It's been a weird experience, as I'm certainly having fun playing it, but there's just a slight element of tedium to replaying the same city over again as other folks here have mentioned. At this point the game really does feel like it should have been an expansion. Mind you, not having the ability to play on Live right now has definitely crippled the game's value somewhat. I'm starting to worry I'll lose interest.

You're missing out on one of the better, more competent coop games out there. It's so ridiculously over the top that it's pretty easy to laugh off the "gangsta thug thang".
I rented it with some hesitation, then did a run through on hard with demi and had an absolute blast. I don't want to oversell the game as it's nothing groundbreaking, and it borrows heavily from other titles, but the end result is a good, short coop game. I even did a second playthrough (something I rarely have the time or desire to do) with another friend who rented it, and I certainly never got bored.

Sorry for the derail.

How do you get the suit though?

I've been playing for a few days (maybe 4 hours or so) and have all my stats at least rank 3 with agility at rank 4.  Did the beacons, cell hideouts, freak breaches, races in the first city.  No suit, no helicopter, no good weapons yet.

I prefer solo when not doing missions because you can go at your own pace and have fun instead of coop where your buddies are rushing around taking on objectives.  But yeah, for objectives coop is better since the difficulty is bullshit at times solo.

wow, that's gonna take me a while >_<  Took me forever to get to level 4.  Seems to go up super slow compared to my memories of the first Crackdown.  I have like 300 orbs and not even anywhere near halfway to lvl.5.  I've mainly been orb hunting in the first two cities because I get rocked spammed everywhere I go in the 3rd one.

I hit rank 5 with like 250 orbs. Do rooftop races, they are shit easy.

Also you can get the flocket launcher, a grenade launcher, and a good assault rifle right on the second island. I did that without even getting any tactical locs there.

But you have to bring them back to a drop zone and they aren't easy to find.

How did you hit rank 5 so fast wtffff.  Do rooftop races give you a lot of agility orbs?  Normal orbs barely move your bar.

Ok, got to level 5 and most of my other stats are at lvl.4 now.  Got the grenade launcher, rocket launcher, homing rocket launcer, super sniper gun stored.  Done with about half the cell strongholds in the game and have most of the orbs activated.

Kind of losing interest in wanting to play at this point.  It's like there's nothing left to do besides more of the same stuff I've been doing so far.  Also I don't understand how the wing suit works.  Does it just slow your fall and let you glide slightly?  Seems like it's useless unless you're on top of a super tall building unless I'm doing it wrong.

How do you get the helicopter?  That's about the only thing I'm missing now.

Like a parachute, right?  Dip the analogue forward and then pull back?  It's not working for me.

Do you have to be high up to fly anywhere?  If you just jump off a one or two store building can you fly?

Played a bunch.  Did all the objectives besides the underground beacons and Freak breaches because I hate the beacons.  Game got a lot more fun toward the later half when you're pretty powered up and taking on harder enemies and taller buildings.  Basically I liked the 3rd north eastern city the most, although the last cell stronghold in the corner was so full of homing rocket spam it was pretty much total BS.  Had to find a spot where I couldn't be hit and recharge and run out and hide and recharge.

I think I like the game.  I definitely like it more than I gave it credit for after the first night of play.  It's a pretty fun game with a handful of slightly varied objectives and hidden stuff to find that encourages just running around the cities and having a good time and in the meanwhile you'll run across actual things to do and you do them and move on.  I think it's about a solid 8/10, even though the majority of what makes it good is simply what the first game created.

I hate the Wingsuit.  It takes way too long before you can start gliding and I've yet to find a time where it's actually useful.
Helicopters are cool but seem pretty useless unless you don't feel like scaling a really tall building that you need to.

Everything that's good seems to be just what was good in the first game.  I could do without pretty much every addition.

Will finish up the 5 beacons I have left and 15 or so Freak Breaches next time I play.  Game is really short.  You can probably do all the objectives and max out your character in ~10 hours.

I'm doing it all solo fwiw.  If I get frustrated on a mission I'll call in a coop buddy, but for the most part the game seems manageable solo.

For me, the first game was "manageable" in solo, and I finished it entirely in single-player. But when I went back for the Checkpoint Chase mode and the speed runs on the bosses, I realized how much more fun the game is in co-op.

Mission progress being limited to the host is pretty common; the host's game world is considered the primary instance, the co-op partner is a sidekick. The original I think had complete parity, so I wonder what design changes they made which forced them to adopt this change.

In the first Crackdown, I'm missing 7 standard Agility Orbs, and have just over half the Hidden Orbs. And that's all I'll ever have, unless I get a Surround Sound system and the audio implementation gives actual aural positioning.

...Man, these threads are bad for me. I'm suddenly overcome with the thought, Well, hell. You could probably grid-out the map and make a pass, waiting for that warbling whine, and pick up those last few Orbs. Dude, it's like 50 points. You could do that in a day...

no, not the tower.  The tower looks doable solo from the video I saw.

the beacon here:

but on the hardest difficulty because I saved it for last.  The orb meter keeps dropping super fast no matter what I do.  If I rocket/grenade the big rock throwers at the edge it keeps dropping and blows up because I guess the non-radar grunts kill it quickly.  If I kill the non-radar grunts the rock throwers kill it.  Everything I've seen says you need more than 1 person.  I can't even get it to 50% after a bunch of tries.  I have no idea what is causing it to drop nonstop since there are NO RADAR symbol enemies at all but it keeps dropping incredibly fast.

Weird, tried it again and the orb meter barely dropped at all.  Finished it with like 75% health left.

Got to the 3rd core on the final mission and grenaded myself to death :\
Did it over and beat it.

Changed my opinion:
Shit ending, letdown game, passable solo
