A game truly held back by wii hardware.  This game looks too epic to be created on the Wii hardware.

The graphics are so bad.

I don't know the budget or what people expected it to look like but it seems on par with most third party wii games.  seems fine.

Xenoblade is first-party [Monolith Soft].

Yeah, I'd rather they focus on making it a good game first, then they can worry about polishing the graphics.

I already know that thsi game will be good, IIRC it is being made by the Baten Kaitos team, so the gameplay will be awesome.   But the graphics wont get much better than this considering how many enemies are on screen in realtime.

It's a Wii. Who cares about graphics if you own and game on that system.

I like my games to look half decent even on the Wii.

Then its time for you to buy another system if that is your concern.

ok, first party is kinda weak but like it has been said, I'm not playing the system for graphics.

one of my most played wii games is the Gundam 0079 import and it looks worse than the Gundam Side Story dreamcast game.

The game doesn't look great but its not that bad. Whatever youtube video you watched must have been poorly compressed.

Character models seem to look better when away from that overbloom in outdoor scenes:

So yeah, its not a good looking game. But its still better looking than most effortless Wii games (that's not saying much). Allegedly, the developer's have sacrificed the graphics for larger more open environments, though the results of that remain to be seen.

yes, probably.  unless it plays like ffXII

If it's like his previous games, it'll play like a movie with 15 minute segments of gameplay every hour or so.

Um why you comparing it to Xenosaga?   It is from the Baten Kaitos team isnt it?

Same director as Xenosaga, and he said it's the unofficial fourth chapter in the Xenosaga story.

No, they changed the name to Xenoblade to honor the director, it was originally called Monado.

Nice bullshots. FFXII looks like next-gen compared to this shit.

Let's hope Lost Sotry looks better than a first generation Ps2 game.

They're pretty clever then, since they originally announced the game as Monado.

Quote

In a recent interview with Dengeki Japan, Monolith Soft revealed that the upcoming Wii RPG Xenoblade (quietly announced last E3 as Monado) will have direct ties to Xenogears and Xenosaga after all. Producer and director Tetsuya Takahashi stated that after pouring his heart and soul into the Xeno games that he wanted to add a little something to please the fans of his prior works.

This real-time, fast-paced RPG takes places on the bodies of two dead gods as seen in the game's artwork. Tetsuya has revealed that these "gods" are actually gears from prior games. One is Brigandier, the gear of Bart Fatima from Xenogears and the other is E.S. Dinah from Xenosaga. Since these prior games were published by another developer, the names will be changed to avoid any potential conflict. Tetsuya claims that Xenoblade is indirectly the spiritual Episode IV in the Xeno timeline.

These gear gods were frozen during a conflict that occurred many centuries prior to the start of the game. Late in the game players will gain access to the inside of these gears where they will find mini-game arenas unique to each. The Brigandier arena will feature Chu-Chu breeding and racing. Inside E.S. Dinah is a Jr's Shooting Gallery where players can win trophies of characters from Xenosaga along with a synopsis of what the heck actually happened in that trilogy.

Xenoblade is currently looking to be an April 1, 2011 release in North America, though the game has yet to be officially acknowledged by Nintendo of America, who still wonders how it got on their press list last E3.

Great Rumbler completely and utterly annihilated.

To clear up the confusion.

Xenogears was Takahashi & friends
moving to namco became
Xenosaga team who did XS ep1 again Takahashi & friends
Partial XS team (aka, XS without Takahashi & friends) did XS ep2 & Baten Kaitos  (with tri-crescendo doing the sound)
Mostly XS team (Takahashi did not direct) did XS ep3
Tri-crescendo then became the developer for Baten Kaitos 2 w/monolith helping out in a few things
Tri-crescendo then went and did Eternal Sonata (shit game) & Fragile

Xenosaga team then split up across their games this gen and worked on various ds/wii titles.  But then most of them got together and made Soma Bringer with Takahashi & friends

now Xenoblade is by Takahashi & friends (except with Mitsuda dropped ;_; and replaced with Shimomura)

*Takahashi's & friends are him/his wife (his wife writes, he directs) + usually honne (art director) + usually Mitsuda (music).
Their resume:
-Xenogears
-Xenosaga Ep1
-Soma Bringer
-Xenoblade

So yes, expect Xenoblade to have a lot in common with the Xenoseries.  If you've played Soma Bringer you'd see how he can incorporate Xenogears/saga style story within a gameplay driven game.

FFXII still looks amazingly good.  Throw it in an emu and it's by far the most impressive looking game from last gen:

Smooth you are wrong. It had the best, most detailed and VARIED textures on the PS2. It was really a sight to behold, no other PS2 game comes close. I think it easily challenges and beats most of Xbox 1 games too.

:lol Vaans abs were particularly shocking though. But yeah wtf were they thinking there.

I like the look of the trailers for this game. Now I have a Wii (recent development) I'll be checking this out. On a side note it would be hilarious if squeenix started porting their PS2 RPG's to the Wii.
