God of War came out the same month as DMC3. 50 hours of DMC3 playing, I got GoW and like, DMC3 ruined my experience with it. I went in expecting a pure action game, but got an action adventure game that thought it had the depth of a pure action game but didn't.

NG2 360 is another game that is baby easy on normal.  Limb removal system is completely exploitable and the enemies have no defense.  But you put up with that to get to the harder difficulties, amirite?  

'cause DMC4, despite it's problems, has enemies that attack frequently with varied move sets on Son of Sparda, DMD, and Bloody Palace.  Not sure if there's even a Blitz in normal mode.

I wouldn't call NG2 normal baby easy. I thought it was way more tough than DMC4 normal. But then, I didn't get to really go through every mode in NG2, although I wanted to. So you definitely have a more informed opinion on that.

No it's not, it's completely remixed.  Even the graphics/music are different each time.  DMC4 has a pretty limited set of enemies.  The game is literally the entire play field with Nero, then that but backwards with Dante, with no new graphics, music, or enemies, shitty dice game part 2 and shitty boss fight with Nero, end.

It's not like DMC4. Don't group it with DMC3 and Bay. NOTHING is as repetitive as that game. Same exact areas with maybe some ice added, same exact boss fights.

Thinking back, Ninja Gaiden 2 wasn't too hard when it didn't suck.  When they would spam you with rockets and stuff non-stop it became aggravating to play.  Also because they made you use the bow too much.

3 was fun, but enemies were so shitty, both in design and as a threat

3 was easily the hardest unless you played the special (aka for pussies) edition. Dante's devil trigger and grenade gun were OP in 1.

Naw, maybe I had it easier since I played too much SF3 and was a boss at Shinobi PS2 tho'. The game was fun and all - especially royal guard, although I didn't like that the timing was looser on regular enemies - but outside of the boss fights there wasn't all that much to do except fuck around with combos.

I never did the grenade roll thing in DMC so maybe I made it harder for myself there, but I was having fun so sod it. 

Shinobi had a similar thing where you'd get good enough to keep your blade blazing through an entire level, but the enemies were at least a little challenging until you mastered that.

If weapon survivals ran at a solid 60 fps in NG2, it would be action game perfection. Even the otherwise broken-beyond-repair scoring system in NG2 works well in survival.

I think DMC1 is harder because the enemies actually want you to die and pursue you. It's not "let's stand here for 30 seconds" that is found in DMC3/4. I found most enemies in those games to be combo fodder.

which is weird because GoW doesn't even have a ranking/point system like the others, which is why a lot of people get really into them.

imo, it's not just the difficulty that makes them hardcore, it's also the (sometimes) balanced point/ranking system that makes you want to keep replaying and getting better.
