Wii classic controller Pro

Damn, this thing is awesome.  Best pad design since the 360.  Is it usable on Gamecube games?

I wish I could mod it for use with other systems.  The d-pad is even better than the Madcatz SF4 joypad's.

You can connect your wii remote to PC via bluetooth and use it that way, or get the USB adapter that might allow it to be used on the PS3 as well

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-6m-49-en-15-classic+controller+usb-70-3nu3.html

and yeah, the Classic Controller Pro shows Nintendo can still make a quality controller.  I won't work with Gamecube games, btw.  Only controllers that can be plugged into the Gamecube controller ports on the Wii are recognized.

briefly reading up on the USB thing, it sounds like L/R won't work on the PS3.

The WII doesn't recognize my PS2 to GC adapters though.  But I guess that's fine now that I can use this awesome pad for fighting games.

What kind of bluetooth adapter would I need to get for lagless gaming?  And does that play-asia adapter work by tricking the OS into thinking it's a keyboard?

Don't know but I really loved this SNES controller from Capcom.  Still the best fighting pad ever made, imo.  With it, I annihilated all my friends who were using stock controllers.

It was the easiest thing to pull off a dragon punch or double QCF motions.  My cousins and friends were pissed because they knew I wasn't that good.   :lol

I actually bought a keyboard to SNES adapter just to use that controller for Super Street Fighter 2 on the PC, which was a fantastic port.  Too bad that was in the PS2 keyboard days.  I still have it but it's just a bitch to convert back and forth between PS2 and USB.

wait, I take that back.  I like cross-pads for 3D fighters.  I was trying Ivy's crazy ass throw in SC1 XBLA the other day...it was just not happening.

I find 3D fighters easier to play with a stick.  Not that I'm any good but it's just easier for me than using a pad.  It's the exact opposite for 2d fighters, only I'm worse with a stick @ 2D than I'm with a pad @ 3d.

is this actually a different controller build than the classic controller?

I always thought they just took the CC and added handles and called it the CC Pro.  I don't like the CC very much.  I don't like the analogue sticks and I don't like the shoulder buttons so I never use the one I bought at launch.  But if the CC Pro is a complete redesign in build quality maybe I should pick one up for stuff that uses it like Monster Hunter.

Yeah, it's different.  I've never played with the original CC so I can't tell you how they compare to each other.  All I know is that the new one has four trigger buttons like Sony pads instead of two shoulder + two circle buttons.  Of course, those shoulder buttons aren't analog like PS2+PS3 pads.

Classic Controller Pro is way better than the regular Classic Controller.  The one negative is that it no longer has analog shoulder buttons, which means games like Smash Bros can't be played properly on it.  Other than that, the shoulder buttons and d-pad are fantastic.  Compared to the mushy flat regular classic controller, the CC pro's is raised a bit and a bit more clicky, but not like the dsi d-pad, it just feels like you get more feedback when moving it around.  Face buttons are only slightly different in that the buttons that aren't clear now feel more like the clear ones (don't press down all the way).  Start/Select and now raised up a bit more.  The controller is longer so the analog sticks are spaced further apart, but the actual analog sticks aren't changed.  The grips are very nice and make the controller very comfortable to hold.

Don't know but I really loved this SNES controller from Capcom.  Still the best fighting pad ever made, imo.  With it, I annihilated all my friends who were using stock controllers.

some of my friends would love that controller.  The way they play on any regular pad is holding it in their left hand, then having a loose grip and poking the face buttons with their fingers.  That controller seems build for that style.

and I too use an arcade stick for 3D fighters while I prefer a pad for 2D ones.  I feel like I can hit the 8 directions quickly and instantly on stick but struggle with the motions needed in a Street Fighter game.

The D-Pad is better than the regular CC? Fantastic, the normal CC's D-Pad is just like the DS Lite's: mushy as hell and diagonals are nearly impossible to pull off.

I just got this controller along with the Madcatz Fightpad Round 2 controller.

Smooth was right, the CC Pro is AWESOME.  It's so, sooooo good.  I tried playing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom again (which I've never been a fan of) and it's like A WHOLE NEW GAME compared to playing it with a GC controller or the original CC.  It controls PERFECTLY and the game is now really fun!  Wow!!  This controller is so good that I wish more Wii games used CC so I could use it often.  I also wish I could use this on my X360/PS3; this controller kills the madcatz fightpad at half the price (fightpad @ $40 is such a ripoff).  I can't believe this is only $20.  Fantastic controller.  I'm probably going to order another one for 2 player gaming on the Wii.

Yeah, the Madcatz pad is a ripoff compared to the classic pro.  You can just tell that the classic pro has better build quality.  The only thing that bugs me a little is the lack of analog shoulder buttons.  It wouldn't even be an issue but freaking swaggaz had to bring it up.  Are there any games other than Smash Brothers that use those analog shoulders?  If so, I might have to pick up the original Classic before it's discontinued.

I didn't even remember that smash brothers used them.  How did it use them in the game?

I might be wrong about Smash Bros using them.  My memories of Melee and Brawl kinda blend together because of their similarity, yet Melee dominates since I played that far more.  At least in Melee, shoulder buttons changed how your shield worked depending on pressure.

I know Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 uses the analog triggers.  A half press is jump while a full press is flying.

that's totally how I used to play with the NES / SMS controllers.

In Smash, I think a light touch activates shield and the shield varies in intensity based on how hard you press it. Then clicking it all the way is a dodge or grab or something.

So now that this awesome controller exists, what are good Wii games where the CC is better than the Wiimote?

-Muramasa
-Monster Hunter 3
-Tatsunoko vs. Capcom

Yeah.  I played it with them.

Cool, guess I won't need the original Classic then.  The Pro seems to be better in every other way.

I don't know but I'm gonna start buying some Virtual Console games just so that I can put the CC Pro to good use.

Yeah, VC stuff and Wii ware like Contra/Gradius/Castlevania Rebirth are definitely gonna play better.

In general I don't use VC though since the space on the Wii HDD is limited and I can just play them on pc emus.

first game I played with it was Klonoa and it played great

oh, and if you still the turd sequel to No More Heroes, it plays well with the CC Pro

All the nintendo online stuff is pretty bad to deal with despite having some good games.  Things like not actually owning the games you buy (it is different than XBLA/Steam/PSN) and having the content tied to consoles rather than an account.

If you don't have a problem with that, definitely check out Cave Story on the wii.

I want to buy X-scape on the DS but have to wait until the 3DS comes out because I can't transfer a game bought on my DSi to another system  :'(
