Classic Controller Pro is way better than the regular Classic Controller. The one negative is that it no longer has analog shoulder buttons, which means games like Smash Bros can't be played properly on it. Other than that, the shoulder buttons and d-pad are fantastic. Compared to the mushy flat regular classic controller, the CC pro's is raised a bit and a bit more clicky, but not like the dsi d-pad, it just feels like you get more feedback when moving it around. Face buttons are only slightly different in that the buttons that aren't clear now feel more like the clear ones (don't press down all the way). Start/Select and now raised up a bit more. The controller is longer so the analog sticks are spaced further apart, but the actual analog sticks aren't changed. The grips are very nice and make the controller very comfortable to hold.
Don't know but I really loved this SNES controller from Capcom. Still the best fighting pad ever made, imo. With it, I annihilated all my friends who were using stock controllers.

some of my friends would love that controller. The way they play on any regular pad is holding it in their left hand, then having a loose grip and poking the face buttons with their fingers. That controller seems build for that style.
and I too use an arcade stick for 3D fighters while I prefer a pad for 2D ones. I feel like I can hit the 8 directions quickly and instantly on stick but struggle with the motions needed in a Street Fighter game.
