So I posted on Facebook that we saw Book of Mormon on Friday night. One of my friends who is Mormon sent me a PM asking what I thought about it, but only after going on about how he feels the show is offensive.

So I do agree it's offensive, but I still enjoyed it and it doesn't influence in any way my views on him or his faith. Still not sure how to respond.

I've known him for 17 years, he knows I have zero interest in joining his church and it's not a big deal. He's the most progressive Mormon I've ever known (he marched in the Seattle Pride Parade with his wife and kids, volunteered for marriage equality, etc.), but I still want to be somewhat nice while being honest.

You should promote, promote, promote. Pimp your books at SA, at The Coli, at GAF after you get a new alt. Who gives a shit if it annoys a few people? It's money in your pocket.

You'd best believe that when my book is finally finished, I will promote it as heavily and enthusiastically as possible.

I am. And I will probably do so more once I finish the series. I've pimped it at SA, and I'm pimping it here. I'm just busy with full-time work and finishing this novel. But by the time I do, I'll basically be dedicating myself to marketing the series for the rest of the year. Into the next.

I know. It's just that marketing is difficult and also, if you really want to get it out there, you need more money than I have.

What DOES make it easier is getting more and more Amazon reviews. A lot of places will market your shit for free after X amount of 4/5-star reviews. So here's hoping I can get more of my friends who are have read it to sit down for a sec and review it. But yeah, I definitely need those most at the moment.

It's also a difficult series to market, but as I've discovered what the overarching theme is (yes, it took me until the final novel), I think I have a better method of selling it now.
