Got my phone back, warranty covered everything, phew. Now I have a blank phone and I'll have to fiddle with the settings a bunch to make it less annoying

I didn't install whatsapp on my loaner phone and now I'm thinking I should just not reinstall it on this one, I got a whole week of peace from the cancer that is group chats and friends who spam shitty youtube links etc. There's a reason I'm not on facebook and whatsapp has become as annoying to me in recent years, I really should just quit using it. I don't know which thread to put this in but I like spamming this one. Yesterday I decorated a mug with a porcelain marker to give to my dad on his birthday. I couldn't think of anything to draw on the mug for months (I was supposed to give it to him on Christmas originally

) but yesterday it just dawned on me that he likes motorcycles, he had some Tintin comic books when I was little and in his youth photos he has the same hairstyle as Tintin so, with some googling and improvising this is what I was able to do:

The marker was an absolute bitch to use since my hand started shaking when I was trying to get clean lines but I was able to clean up the lines with a toothpick. Milou was much easier since he doesn't really have straight lines lol. In hindsight maybe Milou should have a wrench or something in his mouth but the whole addition of the dog was an afterthought so I just drew something.

I think my dad will like it, I just hope the marker stays on well. I've never used them before.

I'm choosing to interpret it as a sea change that represents a growing lack faith in our current system from both sides of the spectrum.

Esch, you absolutely need some cash for your stay in Germany. A lot of restaurants don‘t accept any credit cards. Some would say for tax purposes.

Edit: Uber doesn‘t operate in Germany, so you have to call the local cab service. And most cabs only accept cash as well.
