Manned a camera and played a part in cinematography in a amateur film yesterday. Was a great experience.
Also, about one of the actors. I don't want to paint him in any negative light since he's like one of the nicest dudes I've ever met but partly into shooting one of the scenes his friend (the director) informed me that he's a little slow. Not noticeably so at first, dude is actually good looking too. It brought to mind the movie Lawnmower Man, that sort of odd and partly uncomfortable mixture. He has a hard time taking direction and remembering things but he gets it down eventually.
So, anyways, one moment that made me laugh my ass off internally was a scene where he was supposed to be on my PC. The director told him to go to some site, like Facebook, and act like he's using the PC. He (the actor) jokingly says "Maybe I can go to a porn site!", we all laugh. The scene begins and he goes to a porn site. Director says cut and we all laugh again. The moment has passed now and the actor is still on the site and really giving it his attention. It gets uncomfortable (in a funny way, maybe more so for the director since he's trying to be serious here) and the actor sort of quietly says to himself "fisting", obviously reading the titles for one of the videos. The director had to commandeer the keyboard to get things back on track.
