Coming home from grocery shopping I got annoyed by a driver in front who decided to make a sudden left. I looked to the right and saw the right lane was open except for the ridiculous amount of unplowed snow.

So I decided to go around him.

Thankfully my car is BOSS AS FUCK in the snow and i slide my way through.

Those can cause some fabrics to thin a bit so don't go overboard with clothes made from already thin or delicate fabrics.

I once used an old unused razor blade to remove all the pilling from a sweater, the pile of fluff that came off would have been enough for a bird's nest and it took ages to shave it all off. Finally made me realize to stay the fuck away from acrylic

Yesterday a client asked me about the tax implications of selling Bitcoins.

Thankfully I'd read the IRS notice about this released the other day, but restraining my guffaws became physically painful as the conversation kept dragging on.

The hardest part to get through with a straight face was determining whether the sale was hobby or self-employment income (the sold Bitcoins had been mined). Even harder than responding to, "Karakand, do you know about Bitcoins?"

Just finished helping my friend sign up as well. She's going to be paying $87 a month for a low deductible ($175) silver plan. Similar to Atra's in terms of copays, $500 out of pocket maximum. I had to convince her to stay away from the bronze plans which were significantly cheaper premium wise, but had horrible deductibles. I wonder how many people are signing up for those shitty catastrophic plans, or the HMO plans that will severely limit your doctor network.

I think I was just the attempted victim of a scam. Got a call asking me to handle the return of my equipment to Comcast, that I'm pretty sure I already returned when I moved. I indicated as much. They asked if I had a receipt for the return, I said I didn't recall. Then they said that they were a third party handling company with records from Comcast saying I hadn't. I then said I'll deal with Comcast to see if their records are correct, at which point I was promptly hung up on.

When I got home from work today, my neighbors chickens were out. There was a lady, stranger to me, asking if I knew who they belonged to. So I rounded them up. One went in pretty much by itself. Another was just around the corner, and the third I had to catch and carry down the block.

Hopefully this is the beginning of my adventure to save Hyrule.

I think there's also something inherently uncomfortable about making mistakes, despite their near-necessity in the learning process.

In a similar vein, today's theme of "things I thought were true about my current toolset are wrong," which has in turn made my plans for a new solution wrong, is not very much fun. Even less fun, because my old (already implemented) solution was not acceptable because of conditions no-one had bothered to mention before I started work.
