Debbie Downer alert:

Today I found out my ex sister in law has 2 kids now. I haven't told my mom yet, if I ever do. My only brother/her husband died 6 years ago today. He had been sick with an upper respiratory infection and his fever spiked one night, and she couldn't be bothered to give him Tylenol much less call 911. She was watching a movie and his coughing was obnoxious so she went to the other room. He was hallucinating from the fever, and she thought it was funny. Then he died in the middle of the night and she didn't notice until 1pm the next day when she woke up. Completely treatable with a 911 call and ER trip.

And now this woman has children.

Just use a site-limited query on Google. Easier than anything. Set a keyword search if you're in Chrome or Firefox; heck, I just found a keyword search extension for Safari:

The site search function took forever and ever. It was horrible. I've only ever used Google after that.

These are the types of situations where it's best to just forget learning about this persons life (easier said than done, I know). But it will bring nothing but grief over the fact that justice will never really come and there's not a damn thing anyone can really do about it. I'm sorry.

I'm just going to try to forget I even heard it and move along. Somebody will eventually take her kids away for neglect. My brother didn't have kids with her for a reason. It's not my job to worry about it.

I can't imagine what you went through when you heard her "side" of the story, Lenn. Or your parents. You've mentioned it before but it still hit me like a ton of bricks.

One of my brother's almost died after passing out after some heavy drinking with a friend; he started coughing while passed out and the guy he was partying with called 911. At the time my brother was underage, and the guy he was hanging with was like 24 so there were potential legal issues, despite the cops treating it like no big deal (college town). My mom has said she could have easily ruined the guys life by pressing charges, but she decided not to out of thanks for him calling 911; he could have easily panicked and let my brother die, but he did the right thing.

I still mean mugged the fuck out of the guy when I saw him a few months later tho
