Nope, don't think she even smoked once in her life.

When they detected the cancer, she got a really, really bad prognosis (3-6 months). She fought for 2 and a half years and it finally got to be too much for her.

My next bike (with an entry level carbon fiber frame) is going to be between $2,000 and $3,000.

I think my Giant was $550 new and my husband has a $1000 GT he got for $200 from a friend.

The bike shops around here have great financing plans too. 6 months no interest, etc.

Try something like CraigsList or garage sales if you just want some shitty bike to ride on.

It means you have more than one gear. They shift gears and flip your cassette.

Went to the bike shop and they recommended the Trek 7.2 FX before I even asked about it. Gave it and another bike a test ride and then bought it. The blue one specifically.

They also do maintenance on it for free for the lifetime of the bike so I'm good there.

I remember taking swimming lessons at around 12 at a community college when my mom decided to go back to school. Teacher brought us to the deep end and stuck a pole in. He said to dive as deep as possible and climb back up. There were a few other kids there who obviously had some experience swimming already so they did just fine. I think he instructor noticed how shook I was and didn't make me go in.

I never fully learned how to swim though. I failed not one, but two introductory courses. Only evidence I have of those lessons is that I can sort of deadman float.

That's not necessarily true. Its easier to correct watering/feeding issues but nutrient burn, pH issues and over/under watering is still very possible.

Also, you can use string to keep the plants in place while the roots take to the new hydroton

I prefer to let dumbasses give themselves enough rope to hang themselves with. Chastising is rarely needed because even if it's justified, it can get ugly and can backfire on you.
