I smoked the second boss in about twenty seconds with a barrage of rockets.  8)

On another note, I really like slowly picking apart an area's defense, knocking out the cameras, picking off the guards one-by-one, and then looting the place afterwards.

Overall one of my new favorites, looking forward to whatever Eidos Montreal have in the pipeline next.

more Deus Ex nonsense:

I meet Morgan Everett and he's clearly super suspicious. I go snooping around his place. I find a dude on cold storage that wants to be revived. I find a full functioning spy AI that he claims is just for guests amusement. Guests? You're the member of the fucking Illuminati and you expect me to believe you have guests in your secret base of operations? Come on, guy. I'm not trusting these guys. They just want me to defeat Majestic 12 so they can take rule.

And when I was leaving their facility I see a dead mechanic and the other one is also acting all suspicious? You did something to my helicopter so I'm gonna watch out for that.

However, I am going for the pacifist achievement on hard and on my first playthrough so it's a major pain right now.

So which ending did you end up choosing? I've done all 4 and my favorite is definitely deciding to blow up the facility killing myself and everyone else. I feel like that would be Jensen's decision(at least the Jensen from my playthrough) and is the one I agree with the most. What about you guys?

Do you still find it difficult to reconcile the critically adored, Western-developed Deus Ex: Human Revolution with the Square Enix logo on the game's packaging? You'll get over it in the coming years, as La Presse Affaires reports that Eidos Montréal aims to double in size and accomodate 350 additional employees by 2015.

Though Square Enix has yet to officially announce such plans, the report states that a tentative agreement has been made between the Japanese company (which acquired Eidos in 2009) and financier Investissement Québec. The deal, when solidified, will grant tax credits and a $2 million subsidy to Square.

Earlier reports suggested that Square would establish a new studio once talks with several Canadian provincial governments had concluded. According to La Presse, it has opted to boost its existing Eidos location from 330 to 680 employees over the next four years. Square will reportedly increase staff count by 100 toward the end of 2012.

Man, you're going to being pulling your hair out during certain parts of the game later on.  I always try to knock everyone out instead of kill them outright but there are points later on where they basically force your hand.  I wouldn't want to try for the pacifist achievement on the first go around, but that's just me.

And does anyone know if it's even possible to get the pacifist achievement and

yes, "Foxiest of the Hounds" too.

I had a bunch of spare aug points, so I maxed out my batteries, upgraded invisibility, broke out my stun gun and ran around zapping everyone, munching on candy bars to refill when needed.

For the robot, just zap it to stun it and toss an EMP grenade to destroy it.

stun gun also freezes bosses, temporarily deactivates cameras, and other neat things.   always keep one around.

Now I want to play that section again....too bad I have no idea which save it's under.  I really wish the game would give you the option to name the saves yourself.

So basically Stun Gun is sort of the new Multi-Tool? Would be nice if they gave it a more appropriate name then.

stun gun is basically a weak emp.  like, the first mission of the game has a bomb that can be deactivated by shooting it with the stun gun.  it can temporarily disable turrets and other machinery.  It might work on mines too but I haven't tried that yet.

also, if you have an emp mine or grenade, that can stun bosses.

yeah, the prologue counts.  sucks that you can't do takedowns because human Jensen is a total wimp.  I just sneaked around the enemies.

also, the 10mm pistol is such a broken and awesome gun when upgraded.  armor piercing, silencer and laser.  it's all you need.  one hit head shots, insane distance, silent, abundant ammo.

explosive revolver is better on bosses and robots.  the 10mm still takes robots out in like 10 shots, but the revolver does it way quicker.

Yeah the wall punching aug is pretty awesome.  I remember looking at it wondering why I'd even want it since it probably doesn't happen all that much but it's been surprisingly helpful plus I've found at least 3 or 4 praxis kits because of it.  I kinda wish I gotten it sooner myself.

And the reflex aug where you take two guys out with one battery is much more useful now towards the end.  That one has saved my butt more than a few times.

I just don't understand how anyone could do it, especially with that robot.

I made it through that part with only one guy, somehow, getting killed. Invisibility + stun gun worked the magic there, with an EMP for the robot. I could have gotten through it without killing anyone, but I've already missed the no-kill achievement because of those guys I killed in the very first mission. Oh well.

dlc incoming.  description might have spoilers.

Quote
The Deus Ex: Human Revolution conspiracy grows deeper in The Missing Link. During lead character Adam Jensen’s quest for the truth in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, he mysteriously vanishes for three days. Where was he? What did he find out? The Missing Link reveals it all.

"We are very excited for Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans to be able to complete Adam’s journey in the game with The Missing Link DLC," said David Anfossi, producer of Deus Ex: Human Revolution at Eidos-Montreal. "Gamers will be able to experience a vulnerable side of Adam like never before, which gives the overall game a whole new dimension. The Missing Link propels players into compelling gameplay, beginning with Adam being stripped of his use of augmentations, new, visually stunning environments and the continuation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s conspiracy rich story.”

After being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected. As Adam, gamers will befriend new, mysterious allies and fight ruthless enemies to discover what was happening in the shadows during the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution!

I've been doing my replay and using my knowledge of the layouts/design to take my time and READ EVERYTHING.
In doing so I'm discovering that a lot of the plot points/character introductions I felt were contrived or sudden were actually very clearly foreshadowed.

two things i LOVE about this game:

The Stealth.
as a lot of people know, I'm a MGS fan. Specifically I'm a fan of that style of stealth. I love large rooms with enemies who follow scripted patrol routes and also have specific viewing cones. I love the puzzle of figuring out the way around the enemies to complete/explore. I love the moments where you're hiding behind a box or a wall and an enemy is about to complete his patrol routine right at the edge of the intersection and you KNOW he's going to stop there and not see you, yet you're still nervous as fuck. I love that wait as he continues his routine and you then get to move to the next spot. Not a lot of games can replicate this because they attempt to be "to realistic" about it. Splinter Cell is an example. Now I really like Splinter Cell but I never felt the stealth in those games were as fun. They focus more on light/dark than hiding behind things.

This game is able to do stealth the way I like it. The enemy patrol patterns are well plotted and the areas you're moving around are varied enough where sometimes you in a huge multi-tiered room or you're in a narrow corridor. This game brings back those tense moments from MGS1,2, and 3.

Throw in the augs and you got some serious shit. Cloak harkens back to having the optic camo in MGS1. Seeing through walls though is my favorite and most used aug. I use to get a read at the layout and enemy position and I really feel like I can plot out my path thanks to it.

The "Interrogations"
You know the "shock" and "awe" people had over LA Noire's interrogations? The "interrogations" in this game do that for me. It's probably all the feedback i'm getting from my augs (IG: personality type, personality traits, etc) but these are far more fun and I feel like I'm actually listening to what is being said as apposed to just looking at their face for an obvious tick. Listening to the words and picking my response based on them to me is far better than looking at uncanny valley faced for a canned eye-roll or smirk or whatever. Plus, being able to actually know what my avatar is going to say helps instead of just generic choices with no indication what the response is going to be.

During my replay I actually stopped and listened to what Zeke was saying and used his personality information to save Josie. I felt like I accomplished something and it was very satisfying. The satisfaction level is definitely higher than when I was able to stumble my way through LA Noire's version.

to go on a (very) brief tangent: All those years, all that money for the face tech. All those resources to get the interrogations right and you get 1up'd by a game where the aspect isn't even it's primary component. GG Team Bondi. No wonder you're about to go under.

So yeah. Those to aspects are things i LOVE about the game
