Wow, I kept seeing this thread bumped and was wondering why the hell a movie lincensed game kept getting posts, but now I know. Looks a bit like River City Ransom with all the coin drops. Sprite work is exceptionally good too! Shame there's no online co-op but I can see myself still enjoying this solo.

yeah it does look cool. I dunno, theres just so much dropping on XBLA in the next couple of months and it all costs friggn 1200. If it was all 800 I'd buy a lot more games!

I had put aside 1200 for co-opvania, but Im gonna try Limbo and could well drop 1200 on that. Friggin digital distribution, made impulse buying so much worse  :'(

I can get a IRL bro to play with easy enough, but sometimes you dont want to wait until the weekend just to play the damn game you just bought. In todays gaming world, online co-op is a must for a title of this nature.

So far it's pretty awesome.  It has just as much video game fan service as it does Scott Pilgrim (ignore the fact that Scott Pilgrim has video game references and stuff).

The graphics are great, but I got bored and turned it off before the first level ended.

I enjoyed Castle crashers alone too.  But I'd imagine it's much better in multiplayer and it would have been nice if it has online.  So, yes-ish.

I am trying to think of a way I can take this game to a friends house.  I don't know if you can put these games on a usb stick or something.

and yeah, leveling up makes the combat and stuff better.  At first it did feel stiff and still does, but it gets better.

only way is to login to your psn account on your friend's ps3 and redownload it. you'd be activating one of five share spots on your psn account though, which you can deactivate later

yep, it's a retro brawler.  8-bit games didn't play like Bayonetta!

This game is pretty decent.  The levels do drag on though.  The game froze while loading the level too :\

Yeah, I was expecting it to be more like a 16-bit brawler aka Streets of Rage or Final Fight.

It's definitely more like Double Dragon :X

the biggest problem I have with the game is that some of the stuff you get for leveling up are things you would expect to always be there.  There are special moves that get unlocked, but I'm talking about the ability to attack enemies on the ground or do an air recovery.  It doesn't take long to lvl up to the max (about at stage 4 or 5), but it is a bit annoying considering each character has their their own stats.  It's really meant for multiplayer, so yeah.

Apparently zombie mode helps if you grind in it (enter at title screen: Down, Up, Right, Down, Up, Right, Down, Up, Right, Right, Right).

The closest comparison to this game is River City Ransom

actually, I think I might have done that for Bionic Commando Rearmed.  That was a while ago.

Do you keep your levels when you die?  I guess in that case you can grind until you get all the moves.

Do you ever get a throw move?  Feels so weird not being able to throw by walking into enemies.

the game basically uses the River City Ransom move set.  it's a 1:1 copy of that game.  So, you walk up to a downed enemy and hit one of the punch buttons-- then one button uses the enemy as weapon, the other throws him

there's even a Crash N' The Boys poster in the first level!

yeah, when you die you keep experience, levels, and money.

Man, I would totally be down to play a new River City Ransom game. But I really don't want to buy Scott Pilgrim. Hmmm.
If you don't have Castle Crashers yet you could always get that. It's not pixely like SP but it's got online coop.
