That was a stupidly disappointing conference.  A few great games we already knew about followed by a gimmick.  :\

I hate the fact that Nintendo's success has resulted in MS and Sony wasting time on this motion control bullshit.

Kudo was funny as hell sounding, though.  Every sentence started at a high octave and would dip down until the end of the sentence.

Remember when MS and Sony MOCKED Nintendo for their direction even as far as saying that Nintendo is not a competitor?

LOL

And the same people who shit on wii are saying that the Kinect looks cool

:lol  ???

Its going to come full circle if/when  microsoft starts to become irrelevant. During the snes>ps1 transition us nintards we're in denial about our fanboyism. Sony fanboys were in denial about their leanings even when ps3 support was drying up.  Now we just need a period of microsoft underperforming to root out the true xbots.

The worst part of MS's conference is the realization that it'll probably be the best one.  :piss videogaming :piss2

I think Sony and Nintendo would have to actively TRY to have a worse conference. Nintendo has 3DS and Zelda. They might actually do something different with the series for once, so I'm interested in that. All Sony has to show is Last Guardian footage and they already stomped this POS.

:piss 3ds :piss2

please announce a successor to the psp sony and once again get us out of the handheld gaming ghetto.

zelda i'm cautiously optimistic for but i have a feeling it'll be dumbed down beyond belief and with too much waggle crap added on :/

I dunno. 3ds sounds really interesting. A lot more interesting than this kinect shit. At least 3ds will have GAMES.

Handheld gaming future, baby.

Kinect, while I'm not likely to buy it, I also thought it was interesting technology. After the launch games will wait to see how it is used.

I do want the new 360, but I'll wait until mine dies.

But that takes like 30 minutes to an hour. TP's intro, however...blah.

3d Zelda intros are usually blah. This is a known fact.

yes but that hour is horrible!

All Nintendo needs is 3ds and zelda 8)

I played twilight princess for the first time today. Its pretty terrible. So I'm not enthusiastic about what theyre going to show tomorrow.

The intro to TP is horrible and it takes about 2 hours to get into an actual dungeon. Give it some time. It's a great game but it has pacing issues, unlike other Zelda's.

I've finished the first dungeon.  The npcs, controls, graphics, and music are all blegh.  The only saving graces were some decentish gameplay scenarios leading up to the forest temple.

Forest temple is alright, fire temple is pretty good, but the game doesn't get balls out awesome until water dungeon, and from there it never really steps down in quality, gameplay-wise. What I'm basically saying is that it's pretty hard to judge a zelda game from the first dungeon alone.

microsoft has a solid gaming lineup this year too, which makes the omission of games even more baffling. there was no megatons, just a lot of bribery and skittles.

All Ms could've done is focused more on 3Rd party hardcore games.

And you are going to see them at the EA and Ubisoft conferences anyway so who gives a shit. I am really highly hyped for anything Driver and Deus Ex 3 related i must say.

Sony's is gonna be similar: quick clips of high profile titles, and then move on to showing off a lot of embarrassing MOVE stuff.  It'll probably be similarly awful.  And it wouldn't be a Nintendo conference if it didn't seem like they were actively trying to piss off the core audience.

I mostly agree. All that Kinnect stuff just sucked a lot of energy out of the MS show. I think the move stuff will have a similar effect on Sony but hopfully they are smart enough to cut back on it. And Nintendo's conferences are always god damn awful. So there really isn't an especially high bar to meet this year.

I think Gears is a game that plays better than it videos. Its sort of a visceral experience. That demo wasn't especially exciting but I know that when I actually play it (especially co-op) it will be very intense and exciting to play. I was somebody who didn't play Gears 2 until like months after it came out because I felt I was burned out on gears. But when I actually played it, I thought it was fantastic. I'm sure the same thing will happen here.

I agree with what you're saying but I was pretty pumped for Gears 2 when they demoed it two E3s ago.  I liked the game when it came out too (except the busted multiplayer).

sure it took them a year and a half to get it right but i'm hopeful that epic will use that knowledge and apply it to gears 3.
