they'll both probably tank in the end, but kinect will likely outsell move until then simply because you only have to buy one thing for everyone to "play"

What exactly are you excited for if I may ask?

I'm pretty bummed out, to tell you the truth, as all three shows failed to reveal anything great for release this year.  Don't even get started on the PC either as it's even more barren there.  I guess I shouldn't expect too much as last year along with the beginning of this year was fantastic, but still.

There's a handful of solid looking titles coming later this year, but they were already known quantities and not all that thrilling.

It sounds like you quite literally hated everything, though.  Are you giving up gaming this year?  Is there anything left to anticipate?

That new Fallout Vegas trailer is really kind of depressing, and not in a good way.  Making it hard for me to get pumped for Fallout and I LOVED Fallout.

Wasn't able to watch but sounds like it was a good conference. Lots of games announced either for the fall or the future. Which is what you should do as a platform holder.

MS dropped the ball in that regard. And it doesn't help that they don't have a first party like MS or Sony.

This was the only conference with surprises.

When Portal 2 was shown lights went out in the middle of Tretton speak and GLaDOS took over saying the usual funny stuff.

When Twisted Metal was revealed a van with psycho clowns DROVE on the stage.

It was awesome! Like old E3 not the new sales talking crap.

But it's like being surprised with a box of poop.   Most people haven't given a shit about Twisted Metal for a long time.  Even Sfags don't clamor for Twisted Metal.

From a nerd fanboy "who won" perspective I honestly don't care. That's for system warriors like Triple A It's not like any of this matters in the long run. Nintendo often "wins" E3 yet I never buy or desire anything on their systems. So it's all moot. I like the 3DS and think its neat but I honestly doubt I will buy it or any handheld system. I'm simply out of that stage of gaming and I don't ride a bus or a train to work.

From a personal perspective I thought MS had a poor conference. But honestly in the long run it will come down to the games and what people buy and what people want. "Winning" E3 is meaningless. But if were to subjectively call it, I don't think MS had a very good conference this year.

Cool, thanks for your opinion.

The great thing about Sony's conference was that they didn't seem like they were completely dependent upon Move, which is great because it's going to fail hard.  MS on the other hand is completely out of their fucking minds for putting all their eggs in a basket without a bottom.

Newsflash: MS doesn't have a handheld.

Newsflash: That's the point.

The thing isn't comfortable to use at all, but it really does have some fun games on it (regardless of whether you are an s-cigarillo like myself or not).  Haven't used it all that much in the last year, though.  Then again, my DS Lite was literally only used once in the past year and a half.  I've done all of my portable gaming on my iPhone.  It's inferior to both of those other systems, really, but it's just way more convenient.

Seems more like a PC man to me.  The 360 show was the most painful of all, so I can't imagine a 360 fan poking fun at the mediocre as hell Sony show.  Probably the least interesting show MS has put on since the 2005 reveal of 360.

I'm not overly into 3-D either but if anybody can do something decent with it, I think its probably Nintendo. Especially since you don't have to wear annoying glasses which is why I would never play anything 3-D on a PS3 or 360. Apparently its 3-D depth into the screen rather than projected above the screen. People described it as looking into a window and seeing 3-D depth inside the window.

480 GTX delivering in performance was my Christmas already.  I still got a ton of awesome titles to play on the new setup.  That's the great thing about PC gaming.  Old games actually get better in time.

I've always allowed myself to get hyped for new games since I read my first games magazine.  It has nothing to do with any single company, I just enjoy the excitement.  Most of the games I get excited about end up delivering too so it isn't usually a problem.  I just like having things to look forward to.

I hardly ever replay old games since I've got so many systems.  If I do, it's usually just to see if it looks better with pumped up image quality.

There's just a ton of PC titles that I've yet to play from the last two years.  Some were stuff that I put aside because I didn't like their performance on hardware of the time and others are just long-ass games like The Witcher and Fallout 3.

It's smart that Sony has finally put some effort into getting people to buy multiplat games on PS3. For too long 360 has been the de facto platform for most people. Now that most games are technically equivalent on both, this exclusive content could push a lot of people towards the PS3 versions.

Free games, free content, it's so much better - and cheaper - than XBL that it's hilarious.

XBL = $21 for three months, no free games, only the option to play online, nothing else
PSP = $13 for three months, free games, free content

which would you pick?

SONY SURPRISES
-the game everyone knew david jaffe was making is coming
-the ps3 is going to get a multiplatform game that it previously wasn't going to

amazing, amazing

you didn't like the Portal 2 trailer?

I liked it, it was the definite highlight for me, but Portal 2 on consoles is a nonentity for me.

Agree, but the fact that they showed it was still great.  Two of the best things they've shown, Dead Space and Portal, I'll get on PC.  I still appreciate them spending time and money to show them to me  :heart

Of the actual Sony stuff shown, there wasn't much.  Twisted Metal looks fun, Infamous 2 trailer didn't show much, no Last Guardian, LBP2 was more "look at all dat genre".

XBL = $21 for three months, no free games, only the option to play online, nothing else
PSP = $13 for three months, free games, free content

which would you pick?

Free games, free content for as long as you keep your subscription renewed?

what would be the right way of doing it?

I'm still curious as to why Thirst thinks Playstation Premium is a better deal than XBL

No way a cheap pirate like Turd will pay for PSN.

Not every console owner has a PC capable of running that stuff. It's ridiculous to use that as a excuse why "this conferenced suxxeeddd" without coming off like a fan boy.

Yes. I can't play my games on xbox online without keeping my subscription renewed...Atleast sony isn't locking out features that the consumer bought with the disc from them and charging them to acess it.

Stealing codes apparently.

Nah, I won't pay for PSN+.
I don't like the idea behind it. You're basically just loaning the games.
I'd pay if you could keep the games after you cancel the subscription.
